Former T-ara Soyeon Gets Engaged to Soccer Player Jo Yoo Min, to Get Married in November

Soyeon's management agency, Think Entertainment, announced on January 18 that the singer-actress will marry the soccer player from Suwon FC, Jo Yoo Min. The couple plans to hold their wedding sometime in November when Jo Yoo Min's current season ends.

The couple has been dating for three years and they decided to tie the knot this year. Because of this, Soyeon will be busy supporting Jo Yoo Min throughout the season and with their wedding preparations.

Think Entertainment asks that fans will congratulate the couple and wish for a bright future for them.

Aside from that, the agency stated that fans should also look forward to Soyeon's future activities.

Soyeon debuted with T-ara in 2009 and was active as the group's main vocalist. T-ara belonged to the second generation of girl groups through numerous hit songs such as "Roly-Poly" and "Why is this happening."

After that, she pursued a solo career. Currently, she is active not only as a singer, but also appears in various entertainment programs, such as MBC's "King of Mask Singer," dramas, and musicals.

During her time with T-ara, Soyeon discussed her disputed photos that sparked debates over whether she had additional plastic surgery after her debut in 2009.

Soyeon's pictures grabbed attention when the singer uploaded two pictures to her Instagram in June 2014, which looked much different from her current appearance. She immediately denied the rumor of having plastic surgery.

Meanwhile, Jo Yoo Min is playing for Suwon FC, and was selected for the Korea U-23 national football team in 2018 and helped to win the gold medal at the Jakarta Palembang Asian Games in the same year.

Soyeon's Departure from T-ara

In March 2017, K-pop group T-ara announced Thursday that Soyeon and Boram will not be renewing their contracts after they expire in May of the same year.

Boram and Soyeon's contracts expired on May 15, 2017. Meanwhile, the remaining members have extended their contracts until the end of December 2017.

However, Soyeon and Boram continued working with the group until June 2017, according to the agency.

T-ara began their group career in July 2009 with the EP "Lies," which was followed by their first studio album "Absolute First Album." The girls enjoyed several hits, including "Bo Peep Bo Peep," "You Drive Me Crazy" and "Roly-Poly."

The girl group went through its greatest crisis when its member, Hwayoung, left the group amid rumors that she was victimized by the bullying of her fellow members.

Because of this, T-ara members dropped out of television programs and other entertainment activities. They instead went to seek a broader market overseas.
