GOT7 BamBam, who made a comeback as a soloist, delivered the behind-the-scene story of his collaboration with Red Velvet's Seulgi. On the afternoon of January 18, a showcase was held online to commemorate the release of BamBam's second mini-album "B."
In particular, BamBam initially drew attention in the music scene after he dropped a collaboration with Red Velvet Seulgi through the pre-single "Who Are You."
In the song, the female idol was not only featured in the song but also appeared in the music video, which gained positive feedbacks. As soon as it was released on Dec. 28 last year, it topped 21 countries for iTunes Top Songs, and also ranked No. 1 in Korea's music site, Genie.

During the showcase, BamBam revealed why Seulgi was selected for the collab.
"When I said I wanted to collaborate, I thought of a lot of people, but I postponed it because no one fell 100%," sharing that it has been prepared for about two years already.
He continued, "Then I appeared on Naver NOW's 'Seulgi zip,' and the song came to my mind when I was on the show. I thought that her dance line was similar to mine, the height difference was perfect, and the voice would fit well with the song," he explained the reason he chose Seulgi.
Due to this, he tried to ask the female star; however, there was no way for him to contact her. Just then, Seulgi tagged his account when she uploaded their photo from "Seulgi.zip" on Instagram, which gave him the courage to contact her through DM.
"There was no way to contact her because I had no number or anything. Seulgi noona (older sister) tagged my account while posting a picture on SNS, so I proposed the collaboration through DM, saying, 'If it's okay, please listen to this once and if you don't like it, you can say no."
Although BamBam doesn't have much expectation, he got a positive response from the "Queendom" singer, concluding how he got Seulgi to agree to the collaboration.
GOT7 BamBam Narrates He Got Closer with Red Velvet Seulgi in the Set, Thankful to Her
As the showcase went on, BamBam narrated that both of them were awkward in the set, and they couldn't even make eye contact and also expressed that he was so shy.
"But we really have good teamwork," BamBam; however, said and shared how they worked hard to complete the song.
In the filming set, BamBam also said that they got closer naturally, "We talked a lot about our work and our daily lives. We also recalled how we have a conversation for the first time even if we debuted in the same year (2014). I think it's because we're debut peers that we empathized with each other a lot."
Lastly, when the song was out, the male soloist felt grateful to Seulgi and conveyed, " The final result is perfect that I feel like the song couldn't have been done with anyone but Seulgi noona. Thanks to her, the completeness of the song improved."
