Former DAY6 Jae Slammed for Misogynistic Comment Against Jamie Park

On January 8, Jae took to his Twitch account to live stream. During the stream, a viewer left a comment asking about the possibility of Jae and Jamie Park collaborating. Instead of responding to the comment, the male singer decided to make a joke that was deemed offensive by viewers.

He said, "Now that I am not in K-pop anymore, I can say this. Why is Jamie trying to be a thot?"

The term "thot" refers to "That hoe over there" and is meant to reference a woman who has many casual sexual relationships. Unfortunately, it is a word that demeans women and is synonymous with "sl*t."

Jae continues to joke about the situation, telling his viewers to tell her he said that. When someone brings up the possibility that Jamie Park would be upset, he tries to redeem himself by complimenting her music. He also asks Jamie Park not to sue him because he has no money.

In another tweet, she tells Jae to remember how much she cared for him in their last company and how often she asked about his well-being. She also prayed for his questions as if they were her own.

She then released another tweet, saying that she hates that women are subjected to mens' humor to "appease incels on the internet."

Following the backlash, Jae issued an apology on Twitter. On January 9, he took to Twitch to apologize on stream, acknowledging that he messed up and that Jamie Park's reaction to his words was a wake-up call for him. He stated he would speak to Jamie Park about the situation in person and take time to reflect on his actions.
