BTS V Becomes the Most Viewed K-pop Solo Artist on Wikipedia in 2021

BTS V is Wikipedia's 'Most Viewed' K-pop Artist in 2021

BTS V became the most viewed K-pop solo artist in 2021 in the official Wikipedia ranking. V showed explosive topicality, earning his status as "Social Media King".

The list was revealed on January 24, also showing V is the only personal and K-pop artist to enter the rankings.

From January to December 2021, in Wikipedia statistics, V proved to be a hot topic with an average of 21,087 views per day, a total of more than 7.69 million views.

Pageviews, the number of visitors and data from the US Billboard Social Chart, and publicly recognized social popularity, are the considering factors used to enter the ranks of Wikipedia charts.

BTS V ranked first in the page views of all K-pop solo artists for 10 consecutive months from March to December 2021 in Wikipedia's monthly official Rankings.

In the official rankings in Korea, "Squid Game" took 1st place, followed by "Snowdrop" in 2nd. BTS took 3rd place, while member V took the 7th spot - and he is the only K-pop solo artist to enter.

"Sea of Silence" trailed behind the septet in 4th, while "Our Beloved Summer" and "The Red Sleeve" followed as 5th and 6th placers, respectively.

BTS V's Social Popularity

BTS V ranked first in "30 Most Searched K-Pop Idols on Google in 2021" worldwide ranking, earning him the title of "Google King." V also ranked third as "Most Searched Male K-Pop Idols on YouTube Korea in 2021."

Since the opening of BTS' personal Instagram account in 2021, V's account has surpassed one million followers in 43 minutes and 10 million followers in four hours and 47 minutes, earning him two records from "Guinness World Records."

BTS V's 'Christmas Tree' Hits 30 Million Streams on Spotify

On January 22, the main "Our Beloved Summer" OST "Christmas Tree" by BTS V made the record of exceeding 30 million streams in the shortest period by 29 days by a K-pop male solo song on Spotify, the world's largest music platform.

This is also the shortest period in Korean OST history, so V holds two records on Spotify at the same time. As of January 24, "Christmas Tree" has surpassed 31.15 million streams.

"Christmas Tree" was released on Christmas Eve, although the OST is streamed along with traditional Christmas songs, it charted on Billboard's main singles chart "Hot 100", "Billboard Global 200," UK Official Chart, and Oricon Chart. It also ranked 1st and 2nd worldwide on the US and Japan's iTunes chart breaking records and continues to receive global recognition.
