Girls' Generation Taeyeon Expresses Anger on Horse's Death During Filming of Drama 'The King of Tears, Lee Bang Won'
Back on January 21, KBS released an apology after a retired racehorse that was used in the filming for their ongoing historical drama "The King of Tears, Lee Bang Won," had died on set.
The scene being filmed wherein a horse had died was in which a character had fallen off the horse, while the horse was pulled back and onto the ground using a thin wire that was tied around its legs.
In the video that circulated through various online platforms, the horse was seen falling to the ground with its head on first impact, eventually injuring the horse's neck.

Viewers and netizens have raised concerns regarding animal abuse and how dangerous the stunt was for both the horse and the actor - who fell from the horse.
Following the intense backlash KBS and the drama received, Girls' Generation's leader Taeyeon took to her Instagram account to speak about the issue and express her anger on the horse's death and the production team of the drama.

On her Instagram Story, Taeyeon shared a post by the Korea Animal Rights Advocates (KARA) in a letter addressed to the Board of Directors of KBS.
Taeyeon added as a caption, "My heart hurts so much that it's extremely difficult to watch the video and brought tears to my eyes. It makes me angry. To be filmed like that in today's day and age... It's such a terrible thing to do to animals as well as humans. Was there anyone who ran to that horse right away and check the horse's condition right away? Whose idea was this? Filming in such an unbelievable conditions..."
Meanwhile, "The King of Tears, Lee Bang Won" will not be airing any new episodes for around two weeks following the growing controversy.

Back on January 17, Taeyeon dropped a new digital single called "Can't Control Myself," which will serve as a pre-release single for her upcoming third studio album, which is set to be released sometime in February.
"Can't Control Myself" was written by Taeyeon herself, along with Moon Seolri, and composition by Mich Hansen, Celine Svanbäck, Jacob Ubizz, Lauritz Emil Christiansen, and Ryan Jhun, whom also took part in arranging the song.
