BTS Jin, EXO Kai, WINNER Mino and more may need to bid a temporary farewell to their fans this 2022 due to their upcoming military service.
In particular, military service is a requirement for every Korean male citizen, and even idols are not exempted. Based on the rules, men over the age of 28 (Korean age) must serve in the military no matter what, unless a special reason is recognized by the Military Manpower Administration.
If a good reason has been acknowledged, idols can postpone their mandatory enlistment until the age of 30 (Korean age). If there are no reasons, some stars who postponed their enlistment as much as possible for entertainment activities have to join the military this year.
Here Are 7 K-pop Idols, Celebrities Who Need to Enlist in 2022 Due to Age Limit:
1. Changmo
Korean rapper-producer Changmo, born in 1994 and is 28 years old, needs to enter the military this year, according to the Military Manpower Administration's calculation method.
On Instagram, he already hinted at his mandatory service, showing his shaved head.
2. BTS Jin

Jin, the eldest member of BTS, might have to join the military this year as well.
Born in 1992, his enlistment was postponed to the age of 30 in accordance with the revision to the Military Service Act for their outstanding pop culture and arts contribution in June last year.
However, Jin must enter the military by December 31, 2022.
3. Block B P.O.
P.O., who initially postponed his enlistment, has to serve in 2022. In particular, he was supposed to enter in 2021 but sent documents to postpone it and was fortunately approved, but only until Dec. last year.
Since the due has passed, P.O. need to leave the entertainment scene for a while and serve the country for about 1 and a half years.
4. VIXX Ravi
Born in 1993, Ravi needs to enter the military this year as he will turn 30 (Korean age) in February.
Since he doesn't have any special reason to postpone it, fans might hear from him soon, in regards to his enlistment.
5. WINNER Mino
The "TANG!" singer will also turn 30 in March; which means he cannot push back his enlistment anymore.
In 2021, Mino postponed his supposed entry into the army and was also approved.
6. EXO Kai
Kai, born in 1994, will turn 28 (international age) and will also have to serve in the military by the end of December 2022.
Under the military Service Standards Act, those who are born in 1994 must enter the army, regardless of their birthday. However, he may postpone it, depending on his reason.
7. Song Kang, Nam Joo Hyuk
On top of these idols, top stars Song Kang and Nam Joo Hyuk who are both 94-liners must enter the army as well based on the mandate.
