BTS J-Hope Hits New Spotify Record — Here’s What He Achieved

BTS J-Hope just made a new record on Spotify after ranking on charts among other K-pop soloists!

BTS J-Hope Becomes K-pop Soloist To Have Highest Number of Spotify Followers

On January 30, Spotify posted its chart for the number of followers of each artist. According to the music platform, J-Hope recorded 8.8 million followers, and he is the only K-pop solo artist to make it to top five.

In addition, he has been on the chart since April 2019.

Among all 1,153 Korean artists registered on Spotify, J-Hope rose by one place compared to the previous day, rising to fourth place after BTS, BLACKPINK, and TWICE.

Currently, eight solo songs are registered on J-Hope's Spotify page, consisting of seven songs from his solo mixtape (non-regular free album) "Hope World"; "Daydream," "Airplane," "Hopeworld," "Blueside," "Baseline," "Always," "POP" and one collaboration song "Chicken Noodle Soup" featuring Becky G.

All of his tracks were released for free on SoundCloud and no separate promotional activities were made for the songs.

Moreover, during the press conference for a BTS concert in LA at the end of last year, J-Hope announced that he would release new solo work by saying, "I am continuing to work on music without distinguishing between genres."

BTS Wins 8 Trophies From 11th Gaon Chart Music Awards

During the 11th Gaon Chart Music Awards held on the afternoon of January 27 at Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium in Songpa-gu, Seoul, BTS won in a total of eight categories, including the music and album categories.

BTS won the "Singer of the Year Award" in May, July, and October of 2021 with songs: "Butter," "Permission to Dance," and "My Universe."

The group also won the trophy in the album category in the third quarter of 2021 with "Butter."

Moreover, they received the "Retail Album of the Year Award," "Long Run Music Award of the Year," "Social Hot Star of the Year," and "Mubeat Global Choice Award (Male)."

Although the septet was not able to attend the awards ceremony, they expressed their gratitude to Gaon chart and supporters in a video released after the announcement of "Retail Album of the Year."

BTS Nominated at The iHeartRadio Music Awards

On January 27, BTS was nominated for three categories at the "iHeartRadio Music Awards," one of the American popular music awards ceremonies.

In 2021, BTS was nominated in three categories and won two awards in the "Best Music Video" and "Best Fan Army" categories.

BTS has won the trophy for four years in a row since receiving the first award at the "iHeartRadio Music Awards" in 2018.

They won "Best Boy Band" in 2018, "Best Music Video" Award in 2020 and 2021 with "Boy With Luv" and "Dynamite" respectively. They also achieved the "Best Fan Army" award for four consecutive years since 2018.

The "iHeart Radio Music Awards" ceremony will be held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, USA on March 22.
