VIVIZ Umji Gives Update After Testing Positive For COVID-19

After testing positive for COVID-19 on January 28, VIVIZ Umji told her fans she's recovering well. She also updated her millions of followers on Instagram with a series of concept photos for "Beam of Prism," the upcoming first mini-album of VIVIZ, which is slated for release on Feb. 9.

Last week, VIVIZ's management Big Planet Made confirmed that Umji and Eunha tested positive for COVID-19. The management also revealed Eunha must have gotten the virus from a staff member that she came into close contact with.

Eunha initially tested negative for COVID-19, but after experiencing mild symptoms, she decided to retake her RT-PCR test. She tested positive on Jan. 29 while Umji on Jan. 30.

Other K-pop Artists Who Tested Positive For COVID-19

Other than Umji and Eunha, several other Kpop artists have also tested positive for COVID-19 in the past two years.

BLACKPINK Lisa tested positive for the virus but told her fans that she was asymptomatic. The singer is also fully vaccinated.

In May 2021, GFriend shocked millions of fans across the world after they announced their decision to go their separate ways. The group worked together for six years, and they also received several hits like "Love Whisper," "Sunny Summer," "Glass Bead," "Time For The Moon Night," and more.

It was only earlier this month that Big Planet Made announced their plans to launch VIVIZ. And the group is scheduled to debut next month. However, it's still unclear if this will push through after two members tested positive for COVID-19.

Who are Eunha and SinB?

Eunha has ties with Big Hit Entertainment and Source Music where she trained as an artist before making her official debut. Other than her singing career, Eunha also works as an actress.

She was featured in the 2007 hit "Love and War."

Before working as a singer, SinB was best known as a child actress that appeared in "The Fairies in My Arms."

Umji's Singing Career Was Pure Luck

VIVIZ Umji's musical career happened out of sheer luck.

The singer was just walking on the street when someone from Source Music spotted her and asked her to audition.
