MAMAMOO Moonbyul, Dancer Aiki Explain Their Take on ‘Lunatic’ Choreography

MAMAMOO Moonbyul and dancer Aiki just showcased their impressive choreography for "Lunatic."

The two performers were featured on Dingo Global's YouTube channel as part of its "MOVEREC" series, which focuses on the performances of various artists, and new ones are interviewed weekly to discuss their inspiration for their choreographies and performances.

MAMAMOO Moonbyul and Aiki teamed up for the choreography of "Lunatic," which is included in her third mini-album, "6equence."

Moonbyul described her song as witty because it depicts a phase when relationships become boring and dull so either one of the lovers tends to the go toward the direction that they are not supposed to.

Aiki also talked about the choreography for "Lunatic" and said she tried her best to express the dramatic feeling of the relationship from a time when things are still good up to a time when things are falling apart.

Moonbyul then expressed her gratitude toward Aiki for helping her with "Lunatic" and for making the song and its dance viral online.

"This album includes music that allowed me to be born again, so I grew even more passionate. Many people complimented me and looked forward to it, so I think I can create more confident music from now on," MAMAMOO Moonbyul said.

MAMAMOO Moonbyul's Solo Career

Moonbyul dropped a teaser for "Lunatic" on Jan. 17 and the video immediately received thousands of views.

The clip opens with Moonbyul lying on a hospital bed. She later parties with the staff and other patients before plotting her escape. The nurses at the hospital try to chase her down and the rest is history for the MAMAMOO singer.

"Lunatic" is the third track from "6equence" that was released in the last couple of weeks.

On Dec. 13, Moonbyul also shared "GP999" with her fans. On Dec. 30 "Shutdown" was released, and it features Korean R&B singer-songwriter Seori.

On Jan. 19, Moonbyul opened up about her new mini-album, as well as her thoughts on the success of MAMAMOO. She admitted that her band's success is bittersweet because a lot of fans used to only know her as a member of the K-pop group.

But after she released her solo albums, she suddenly gained an even bigger following. Now, more fans know her because of her solo music.

MAMAMOO Moonbyul Proud of '6equence'

Moonbyul's first solo released happened in 2018 with her EP "Selfiish." Even though MAMAMOO was already in existence at the time, the singer said that there was more pressure to release her third EP "6equence."

After all, more people listen to MAMAMOO these days that's why she needed to prove herself even more with her new music.

Moonbyul said that she was also involved in the making of "6equence," starting from writing the lyrics to her songs up to the recording process. The singer said that she's 100 percent satisfied with the outcome of her music.

According to her, the songs in "6equence" are relatable to fans because its main theme is love.
