TREASURE Drops ‘Do Treasure Project’ Teaser Ahead of ‘The Second Step: Chapter One’ Release

TREASURE has been treating fans with teasers left and right ahead of the release of their mini-album. On Thursday, Feb. 3, the K-pop group dropped a concept teaser for their "Do Treasure Project".

Not much is shown in the teaser other than a combination of lights, the title of the group's mini-album, and its release date paired with captivating background music.

"The Second Step: Chapter One" will be available starting Feb. 15 at 6 p.m. KST.

TREASURE Started With 13 Members

TREASURE is a 12-member K-pop group under YG Entertainment. They debuted on Aug. 7, 2020, alongside the release of their first album, "The First Step: Chapter One."

The group is made up of Choi Hyun Suk, Jihoon, Yoshi, Junkyu, Mashiho, Yoon Jae Hyuk, Asahi, Bang Ye Dam, Doyoung, Haruto, Park Jeong Woo, and So Jung Hwan.

The members of TREASURE joined the reality TV show "YG TREASURE BOX." Initially, only seven male idols were supposed to be part of TREASURE. And a second boy group was supposed to be called Magnum.

But following a series of scandals, YG Entertainment decided to put the two groups together and form TREASURE.

Fans of TREASURE are called Treasure Makers, and the members of the group refer to their fans as Teume.

Get To Know The Members of TREASURE

According to Teen Vogue, TREASURE stands out because of its large number. Even if some K-pop groups also have over seven artists, the industry has been trying to cut down on this figure over the years.

So, it was quite a surprise when TREASURE debuted with 12 members. And this number could've been 13 if one of the original artists did not resign.

Not all members of TREASURE are from South Korea. Some of them were born and raised in Japan. As such, the idols want to make it big not only in the two countries but also in other parts of Asia and the world.

Hyunsuk, 21, is the leader of the group. He's also a rapper and a dancer. He joined YG Entertainment in 2015, but he has been trying his luck in the K-pop world for years.

Jihoon, 20, is also a dancer and a vocalist of TREASURE. He is from Busan, South Korea, and he trained with YG Entertainment in 2016. He appeared in one episode of the Stray Kids survival series in 2017 alongside Silver Boys.

Junkyu, 19, is one of the group's vocalists. Fans couldn't help but notice Junkyu's unique tone and have likened him to iKON Junhoe and BLACKPINK Rosé.

Mashiho, 19, is a vocalist and dancer of TREASURE. He is also from Japan. He has been training since 2013 and it took him years to infiltrate the South Korean market.
