"Hello, this is SM Entertainment. We would like to inform the fans who are waiting for Taeyeon's third full album 'INVU' to be released on February 14. Taeyeon's highlight clip content for her third full album 'INVU', which was scheduled to be released from today (4th) to the 10th, could not be released due to issues in video quality," SM Entertainment said.

The label followed up with another tweet, saying, "We sincerely apologize for delivering this unfortunate news to fans who have been waiting for a long time, and we ask for your kind understanding as this is an unavoidable cancellation decision. We will do our best to prevent the same problem from occurring in the future teaser contents. Thank you."

Following the cancellation announcement, Girls' Generation fans, SONEs, were far from happy, and took to Twitter to criticize the label for cancelling the release altogether.

Many criticized SM Entertainment, stating that they are a big company, but they are producing work worse than those from mid-sized labels.

SM Entertainment also drew heavy flak for cancelling the main promotions of Taeyeon's "INVU."

In addition, they cancelled the highlight videos on the day it was meant to be released, which did not sit well with fans.

Some comments from fans read, "If you cared about quality you would have never released the bad girl music video the way you did!," "Do you really think we'll just accept this? This is disrespectful not only to us, fans, but especially Taeyeon and her team, who were definitely excited and have worked hard for months for you to just screw everything up less than 2 weeks before a FULL ALBUM release. Unacceptable," "How can they do this every single time?," and "They don't care about Taeyeon, but care about their other kids," among others.

SM Entertainment Called Out for Repeatedly Cancelling Releases

This isn't the first time SM Entertainment has cancelled a release. In fact, they have done this to other artists under the label as well.

Some artists who had their music video or content released late were Girls' Generation, Red Velvet's Irene and Seulgi, NCT, and SHINee's Taemin.

Because of that, some fans weren't even surprised with the announcement, but rather disappointed and angry as it had to happen again.
