BTS Jungkook Confuses RM With This English Word He Doesn’t Understand

BTS Jungkook just proved to RM he could be as good as him when it comes to speaking in English.

Read on to know what happened.

BTS Jungkook Surprises RM With New English Word

While speaking with Access to promote "Map of Soul: 7," BTS was asked what their favorite English word is.

Jungkook, the septet's maknae, said that his favorite word is "brekkie."

RM, who is the most fluent English speaker among the BTS members, made a face after hearing the word. After all, he didn't have any idea what it meant.

The leader then asked Jungkook what "brekkie" means and after the latter said that it's a slang word for breakfast, RM wondered if they've ever used the term.

RM also said that he thought "brekkie" is the same with the name Becky as in Becky G.

After hearing Jungkook's favorite English word, ARMYs couldn't help but wonder where he got the term from. Some of them are speculating on the possibility that Jungkook got it from Troye Sivan since Australians use the term when referring to breakfast.

However, Jungkook supporters are even more proud of their idol because it seemed he beat RM when it comes to speaking in English. After all, RM is the first member of BTS to be able to speak the language and the rest had to learn it after they debuted as a K-pop group in 2013.

How BTS Members RM, Suga, Jimin, Jin Learned English

In August 2021, RM revealed he learned how to speak English after watching the hit American sitcom, "Friends." He was around 14 or 15 at the time and his mom was the one that forced him to watch the show so that he could pick up English words and sentences.

But at the time, RM felt like a victim because most South Korean mothers were forcing the kids to watch "Friends" to help them learn the English language.

After several years, the Bangtan Boys leader said that he now feels lucky to have watched it because he's now fluent in English.

Jin and Suga also watched "Friends" to help them learn the language.

When Suga was 15 or 16, he also bought a CD of Eminem but didn't understand what his songs were all about.

During their appearance on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," the BTS members revealed that Jungkook has been trying the hardest to learn.

V, on the other hand, has also been using his phone to learn online.

While speaking with Wired in August 2021, RM revealed that Jungkook and Suga have been taking English lessons. However, Jimin doesn't want to join them. Instead, he prefers learning the English language by watching movies and series on Netflix.

BTS has several English songs featured in their albums. "Dynamite," "Butter," and "Permission to Dance" are three of their English-language singles as of late.

All three tracks have also received a slew of awards. "Dynamite" and "Butter" are also included in BTS top 10 songs.
