Global fandom platform UNIVERSE has unveiled its achievements over the past year to mark the first anniversary of its launch.
On the February 7, NCsoft Co., Ltd. and KLEB Co., Ltd. said, "Universe Co., Ltd., a global fandom platform, will release exclusive pictorials of 20 participating artists, including MONSTA X, ASTRO, and THE BOYZ, for free."
Universe has grown around functions that focus on communication, such as private messages and FNS (Fan Network Service), and self-produced UNIVERSE Originals. It recorded 21 million downloads globally in a year since its launch in January last year. It serves 233 countries worldwide, including Korea, the United States, Japan, and Indonesia, with 89% of overseas users joining.
Universe has released a total of 6,288 original contents, including entertainment, pictorials, and sound sources, and has accumulated 24 million views over the past year. For communication between artists and fans, a total of 34 online and offline events, including fan meetings and showcases, were held, and 190,000 global fans enjoyed them together. The online live joint concert UNI-KON held last year attracted 2.6 million people from 164 countries.
Currently, Universe has opened a total of 35 "Planets," including 32 artists and three programs (MBC "Idol Radio Season 2" and JTBC "Sing Again 2." In the future, the company plans to further expand its scope by opening "Brand Planet."
In particular, Universe will hold a special event to commemorate its first anniversary. Artist exclusive pictorials of 20 teams, including MONSTA X, ASTRO, and THE BOYZ, will be released for free. The pictorial can be found on the Universe app until 10 a.m. on February 9.
Universe plans to introduce functions that increase user convenience and add joy sequentially this year. It plans to update various functions and contents, such as the launch of a "web version" where users can enjoy various contents on a large screen and a "live streaming" that allows them to communicate more vividly with artists through real-time videos.
