A brand BLACKPINK member Jisoo was once the muse for unfollowing her on Instagram, sparking backlash. Keep on reading for all the details.

Clothing Brand Draws Flak for Unfollowing BLACKPINK Jisoo on Instagram

Back in February 2021, BLACKPINK member Jisoo was selected as the model and muse for clothing brand itMICHAA's Spring 2021 collection. The idol continued to work with the brand later that year, posing for itMICHAA's 2021 summer, fall and winter campaign.

As Jisoo was known to be the brand's muse, many were surprised when they realized itMICHAA had unfollowed the idol on Instagram.

It was soon discovered that Jisoo's one-year contract with itMICHAA had expired. As Jisoo is no longer the brand's muse, they quickly unfollowed her and appointed a new face for the brand. Currently, actress Kim Tae Ri is the face of itMICHAA.

Once internet users discovered the brand had unfollowed Jisoo on Instagram, a wave of anger and resentment broke out. Those who followed the brand due to its ties with Jisoo immediately unfollowed itMICHAA on social media.

From February 4 to February 7, itMICHAA has lost nearly 10,000 followers on Instagram. Their follower count continues to decrease, with people disappointed in how quickly itMICHAA dropped Jisoo despite how the female idol helped boost the brand internationally and in South Korea.

itMICHAA is a brand known to change their muses often. The company regularly searches and works with new muses after a certain period. Before Jisoo was the face of itMICHAA, the brand's muse was actress Shin Hye Sun.

While others believe some BLINKs were too quick to judge, they also agree that itMICHAA was at fault for quickly "washing their hands" off Jisoo, significantly since she contributed to raising itMICHAA's brand value.

Some comments concerning the Jisoo and itMICHAA situation read, "I never followed them," "I only followed them when Jisoo became their muse. Now I'll unfollow them," "So unprofessional! The contract just ended, and they are already turning their backs away from her? Did they forget how Jisoo helped their brand grow," "Their followers are going out," and "Knowing that the brand and Jisoo are no longer contracted, I think itMICHAA reacted emotionally. The brand was wrong for this one."
