Day6 Wonpil just broke an international record! According to reports, the 27-year-old K-pop idol released his solo debut album, "Pilmography" on Tuesday, Feb. 7, and it landed on the no. 12 spot on the worldwide iTunes album chart.
"Pilmography" also debuted at no. 55 at the European iTunes album chart. And the album also made it to the no. 1 spot on the iTunes chart in 10 different countries, such as Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, Ukraine, Vietnam, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, and more.
The songs included in "Pilmography" are "Voiceless," "Sincerity," "Pieces," "Last Goodbye," and more.
Day6 Wonpil Talks About 'Pilmography'
On the day of his album's debut, Wonpil appeared in an online press conference to talk about "Pilmography." He said that he doesn't want to think that the album is his because it wouldn't have been possible if not for Day6.
Wonpil also said that when Day6 was promoting their albums, they had each other to lean on. But when it was his turn to promote his own music, he was all by himself.
Luckily, Wonpil received advice from Day6 Young K, who has also released his solo debut album. Wonpil said that Young K is his most precious friend, and he's also a great partner.
Day6 Discuss 'The Book of Us: Negentropy - Chaos Swallowed Up in Love'
On April 19, 2021, Day6 marked their official comeback with "The Book of Us: Negentropy - Chaos Swallowed Up in Love."
The members of the K-pop band opened up about the album and said that they want their listeners to come up with their own interpretation of their music.

Wonpil said that their goal for the album is to sing about moments of every kind, adding that Negentropy is a fraction of those moments. He added that Day6 wanted to convey a message about bearing fruit the order brought by eternal love amid all the chaos and disorder in the world.
The group was also asked if there's something in their lives that makes perfect sense to them but that might be confusing for others.
Jae said that his morals make sense to him, but he also understands that not everyone perceive it this way.
And when it comes to their musical influences, Jae said that Justin Bieber is his idol. Young K revealed that he's greatly influenced by producer Hong Ji Sang.
Wonpil is a fan of My Day, while Dowoon said that he's most inspired by the members of Day6 because they're always together.
Day6 also revealed that they are not like other bands that collectively decide that it's time to make an album. Instead, they are usually creating and exploring new material so when they have more than enough, they include them into the album that they're going to release.
Young K said that the first thing that they usually do is have a conversation. They also talk to their producers and discuss their everyday lives because this is where their ideas are coming from.
