TEMPEST Members Diagnosed with COVID-19 - Will Their Debut Still Be Later This February?

On Feb. 14, Yuehua Entertainment released an official statement to announce the current health status of the seven TEMPEST members. They said that Hanbin, Hyuk, Hyeongseop, Eunchan, Taerae, Hwarang and LEW (Euiwoong) have tested positive for COVID-19.

The label revealed that one of TEMPEST's external staff members was confirmed positive for the virus on Feb. 13. As a result, all members took rapid antigen tests and each received a positive result. They then quickly went to the hospital to undergo PCR testing, and it was confirmed today that all seven members have contracted the virus.

Yuehua Entertainment continued that all TEMPEST members have completed the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and their scheduled activities were fulfilled after verifying their negative test results of the self-testing kits.

The agency then said that the seven boys are showing fever and mild cold symptoms and they are all being quarantined at home for rest and treatment.

Since all seven members of Yuehua Entertainment's new boy group have tested positive for COVID-19, the company has decided to postpone their debut. TEMPEST's debut date was originally scheduled on Feb. 21.

According to the label, instead of dropping their debut album "It's ME, It's WE" on the 21st, it will now be released on March 2 at 6 p.m. KST.

Yuehua concluded their statement by saying they will ensure the treatment and quick recovery of the TEMPEST members, Hyeongseop, Taerae, Hanbin, LEW, Hwarang, Eunchan and Hyuk and that they will continue to do their best for the health and safety of their artists and staff.

On Jan. 3, the label unveiled the faces of all seven members of the boy group through concept photos. Although their names weren't revealed, many of the fans are already familiar with three members, such as Hanbin (who competed in "I-LAND") and Euiwoong and Hyeongseop (who participated in "Produce 101 Season 2").

Lots of fans have been waiting for Hanbin's debut in an idol group since he was announced to have signed with Yuehua Entertainment after leaving Belift Lab (ENHYPEN's management agency).

Prior to their debut, TEMPEST released a few dance covers, showcasing their powerful moves. They covered SEVENTEEN's "Hit" and NCT 127's "Kick It.

Meanwhile, Yuehua Entertainment's new boy group will release more teasers in the following week/s until their official debut on March 2.
