BTS Jimin Makes Unexpected Appearance at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics
Although sports and K-pop are two different industries, it appears as if they are being connected more and more these days. In fact, the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics saw more K-pop-related aspects, even if it's in the subtlest ways.
One of the recent moments is BTS Jimin appearing unexpectedly during one of the events.

On Feb. 14, the women's curling round robin event between South Korea and Japan was held at the National Aquatic Center, Beijing. It was at the time when eagle-eyed ARMYs noticed Jimin's quick yet clear appearance.
During the event, Kotomi Ishizaki was sitting on one side of the ring. She was holding a white notebook where fans saw a familiar figure on its cover - a sticker of BTS Jimin!
When zoomed in, it is clear to see that the sticker of Jimin was from the "Dynamite" era when he was sporting a green bomber jacket and blue jeans.

Of course, it was only a short matter of time when this incident of BTS member Jimin appearing at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics was shared on social media. And, this resulted in ARMYs not getting over the fact that a world-class athlete was showing her love for the K-pop idol in one of the biggest events of the year.
In a separate photo, Kotomi Ishizaki seems to have hinted at her being an avid fan of BTS. The picture, which was shared on the Japanese curling team's official Instagram account, shows the curler having a Jimin McDonald's character keyring hanging from her bag.

Aside from Ishizaki, a few other athletes who participated in the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics were revealed to be an ARMY. The Korean short-track women's national team player Lee Yubin previously said that she wants to receive support from Jimin.
Japanese figure skater Hanyu Yuzuru also talked about BTS member Jimin, describing the idol as someone with a very flexible body. He added that he was inspired by Jimin's impressive dance skills, which he applied in figure skating.
It appears like Jimin is becoming a favorite idol to more and more athletes as time goes on.

In other news, one of BTS Jimin's solo songs has attained a remarkable feat in terms of sales in the United States.
On Feb. 11, it was announced that Jimin's "Lie" has sold more than 500,000 units in the US, the largest music market in the world. With this, the track becomes eligible for a gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America.
"Lie" is BTS Jimin's first solo song and the first and fastest tune from BTS' "Wings" album to sell half a million copies in the US. Also, it is the first solo track by a BTS member to record this impressive total sales figure in the country.
