NMIXX Earns THIS Spotify Recognition Following ‘Ad Mare’ Debut

NMIXX receives a special recognition from Spotify just days after they dropped "Ad Mare."

According to reports, NMIXX was selected as the first RADAR Korea artist of the year on Monday, Feb. 28.

RADAR is also known as Spotify's global emerging artist program. It aims to provide their chosen artist the support that they need both online and offline to promote their music.

Since August 2020, Spotify has already been introducing new K-pop idols via its RADAR KOREA playlist.

As the newest K-pop group to be included in RADAR Korea, NMIXX will be able to provide new content for Spotify. The K-pop group would have the opportunity to release their Spotify Singles, as well as record an existing song in a unique way.

NMIXX would also have the opportunity to cover a song by one of their personal idols. Spotify will also provide them with the platform to talk to their fans across the world.

The recognition wasn't really surprising because NMIXX has been the talk of the town since they debuted on Feb. 22.

NMIXX Enjoys Success of 'Ad Mare,' 'O.O'

At the time, the all-female group released their album, "Ad Mare" alongside their debut single, "O.O" and a music video for the latter.

Initially, "O.O" received negative comments from fans, as well as from industry experts. After all, they saw similarities between the official music video's concept with other K-pop groups.

There were allegations of plagiarism from JYP Entertainment's side since they are the agency handling NMIXX.

After the dust settled, more fans and experts started appreciating NMIXX's "O.O."

Some K-pop fanatics also pointed out that JYP Entertainment's tactic to promote their newest artists may have worked.

After all, the positive and negative comments that NMIXX received contributed to the number of sales for their album, as well as the number of views on YouTube.

So, after just a few days, the music video for "O.O" has already garnered 40 million views on YouTube.

NMIXX Jinni Has Special Bond With TWICE

On Feb. 23, NMIXX appeared on MBC's "Weekly Idol," where they shared their special bond with TWICE.

NMIXX Jinni revealed that TWICE helped her a lot during her trainee days. As such, she couldn't but think that the members of the K-pop group are such great people.

NMIXX Jinni also revealed that TWICE helped her fit in with her fellow K-pop artists. Since she was from Busan and was away from her mother for the first time, TWICE was there to give her support.

In fact, TWICE even bought her food and wrote her letters.

More specifically, NMIXX Jinni said that TWICE Tzuyu helped her with her dance training because she struggled with it at the start.

NMIXX Jinni believes that TWICE Tzuyu, as well as the other members of the K-pop group, are all nice people.
