7 Most Anticipated K-pop Rookies in 2022: NCT Hollywood, Trainee A, Kep1er, MORE!

Are you excited about the new generation of K-pop? While entertainment agencies are releasing their respective artists' comeback and debut lineup in 2022, K-pop enthusiasts showed huge anticipation for these 7 rookie groups expected to dominate the K-pop scene this year.

Most Anticipated K-pop Girl Groups 2022: Kep1er, Girls on Top, Purple Kiss

On March 8, the Korean media outlet Work Today revealed seven groups to be launched and will be introduced in 2022.

Among girl groups, Kep1er is introduced first on the list.

In particular, the team was produced through Mnet's "Girls Planet 999." It consists of nine members from Korea, China, and Japan.

On Jan. 3, Kep1er made their successful debut with their first album, "FIRST IMPACT," causing a stir in the K-pop world with their title track, "WADADA."

Along with them, the outlet also chose Purple Kiss as a girl group to watch out this year.

The group debuted in March 2021 through its first EP, "Into Violet." Since then, they slowly yet surely established their name as a "self-produced" group - writing, composing, and choreographing their songs themselves.

After a year, the septet is set to release their third mini-album on March 29. They are raising expectations of what kind of genre to flaunt this time.

Lastly, Girls on Top (GOT), a project girl group of SM Entertainment is gaining more anticipation from fans for their next unit.

In particular, the first unit GOT the Beat combines female artists from SM Entertainment BoA, SNSD Taeyeon & Hyoyeon, Red Velvet Seulgi & Wendy, and aespa Karina and Winter.

Fans are focused on which SM female artists will join the next unit to be selected by a theme.

Most Anticipated K-pop Boy Groups 2022: NCT Hollywood, Trainee A, ENHYPEN, Younite

Meanwhile, among male rookies, the new group NCT Hollywood, a sub-unit of NCT, based in the U.S., draws attention. It was revealed they will finally debut in 2022.

In particular, the members of the new group will be selected through a US reality survival show. The winners will be given a chance to fly to Seoul and participate in the final selection led by Lee Soo Man and other judges.

Among soon-to-debut male groups, Big Hit Entertainment's multilingual seven-member group Trainee A also garnered attention.

The members are consecutively revealed through social media sites. Since then, they have been gaining millions of followers for their amazing appearance.

Following NCT Hollywood and Trainee A, BRANDNEW MUSIC's upcoming nine-member boy group YOUNITE also drew expectations from fans.

The members are initially introduced in February and are expected to debut sometime in the first half of 2022. Anticipation also increases as Eunsang, a former X1 member, will finally re-debut in a group after the disbandment in 2020.

Last but not least, among boy groups who successfully debuted in 2021, ENHYPEN has been gaining more attention for their music and charms. They are enthusiastically attracting audiences and securing millions of followers on SNS.
