BTS' Seoul Concert Sets New Record of Over 2.4 Million Global Audience in Three Days
On the night of March 13, seven-piece superstars BTS finally concluded their highly-anticipated three-day concert, "Permission to Dance On Stage," which took place on March 10, 12, and 13 at the Olympic Stadium in Seoul.
Following the success of the concert, the group's label Big Hit Music announced on March 14 KST that the number of audience that attended the offline portion of "Permission to Dance On Stage" reached a total 45,000, with each concert day welcoming 15,000 fans amid Seoul's COVID-19 restrictions.
Simultaneously on March 10 and 13, BTS' concert was live streamed online and saw a whopping 1.02 million viewers around the world. While on March 12, a live viewing was held in theaters worldwide at the same time, with an estimated 1.4 million fans in attendance.
In particular, the live viewing was held in real-time at 3,711 movie theaters in 75 countries and regions around the world, with "Permission to Dance On Stage - Seoul" setting a new record for the highest number of audiences for global theater events (screening content or events at movie theaters excluding movies).

This means that a total of 2,465,000 fans, from both online and offline, attended and witnessed BTS' first concert with a live audience held in South Korea in over two years since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2019.
'Permission to Dance On Stage' in Seoul Live Viewing Becomes Highest Grossing Theater Event Release
In addition, it is also confirmed that the live viewing event of "Permission to Dance On Stage" in Seoul, which is the first South Korean live cinema broadcast of a concert presented by Big Hit Music and Trafalgar, had garnered a box office gross of a whopping $32.6 million USD around the world.
According to reports, the one-day limited engagement event had risen to No. 2 on Saturday's box office in North America, after seeing a box office gross of more than $6.84 million USD, with a per-screen average of more than $8,500 USD across the 803 participating movie theaters in the continent.

Meanwhile, due to COVID-19 protocols in South Korea, only clappers and light sticks were allowed at the concert, forgoing the usual fan chants and shouts.
Regarding this, BTS said that it is a unique experience having a "silent concert," which has not happened in the past decade that they have been active in the industry.
Over on the global fan community platform Weverse, RM said, "As always, ARMY (BTS fans) are the best, and I think you were able to convey all the sincerity and energy that you could give with the limited situation."
BTS is set to hold the next round of their "Permission to Dance On Stage" concerts at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas from April 8 to 9, and April 15 to 16 local time.
