Kang Daniel Avoids Being Caught in a Political Controversy by Not Using Blue and Red Colors

Recently on March 14, Kang Daniel took to Naver V LIVE to hold a live broadcast and to spend time with fans. During this broadcast, the idol decided to celebrate White Day by making a candy basket. He decorated it using colorful flowers and other various ornaments.

As Kang Daniel was concentrating while making the candy basket, he also expressed his willingness not to use any of the blue and red-colored decorations. He said, "To say this is a little humorous, I will just avoid these colors."

The reason why Kang Daniel specifically excluded decorations in blue and red is due to the colors' affiliation in the political parties of South Korea. Democratic Party's color is blue while the People's Power Party is red. (red).

In light of the presidential elections in South Korea for the past few weeks, numerous K-Pop idols and Korean stars have been embroiled in political controversies. Most of them were misunderstood and were accused of showing political preferences after sharing posts that allegedly have specific colors and numbers on their social media.

For this fact, Kang Daniel just smiled awkwardly to himself, and said, "I am afraid that you will misunderstand because it was the presidential elections not too long ago. This [blue and red] doesn't have any meaning."

Kang Daniel also pointed to the basket's rim color that is purple. He explained that it is not a combined color as well, and asked fans not to misunderstand.

However, Kang Daniel still expressed his worry that people might misunderstand and involve him in a political controversy that might arise.

In other news, the former Wanna One member made his acting debut this year. He starred in his first leading role in the Korean Disney+ Star original series, "Rookie Cops," back in January. This marked Disney+'s production debut in South Korea.
