Jay Park Receives Hate After Collab With K-pop Idols For 'GANADARA' Dance Challenge

On March 11, Korean-American rapper Jay Park released his first single under his newly established label MORE VISION.

"GANADARA" is a track he collaborated with IU. Since its release, the male rapper has been promoting the song through SNS, such as on TikTok and Instagram.

In particular, it is a trend in the K-pop scene to collaborate with other idols to do a dance challenge of their new release. In line with this, Jay Park also met other artists like STAYC, (G)I-DLE Soyeon, GOT7 Jay B, SEVENTEEN Vernon and Hoshi, among others.

While a lot of fans were delighted to see younger idols interacting with the second-generation star, this does not sit well with everyone.

In Jay Park's dance challenge posts with other artists, he get criticized for his past controversies. But the situation became overwhelming when ATEEZ Mingi appeared with Jay Park to do the "GANADARA" challenge.

Some comments implied the senior idol is a "bad influence" and even accused Jay Park he "forced" the junior idol to do the dance challenge with him.

Jay Park Claps Back: 'If you're a fan, you shouldn't bully the person you're a fan of'

Initially, the "Mommae" singer kept mum amid the hateful remarks. This time, Jay Park decided to call his hates out, realizing the impact to the other artist when his name trended on Twitter, "dragging" Mingi.

The K-Hip Hop star particularly asked people to stop bullying their idols for liking him, saying:

The "My House" singer also emphasized he's used to haters coming for him on his own page; thus, they should not drag other idols by commenting on their pages.

Apparently, ATEEZ's post with Jay Park also drew negative comments from other internet users.

In response, Jay Park's fans defended him and clarified that the idol didn't "force" Mingi since the junior artist himself is a fan of Jay Park.

Upon realizing discord between fandoms, the founder of AOMG and H1GHR Music wrote to his Korean fans not to fight back.

"If you’re my fan, I hope you would not curse back at the same level as them, no matter what they say. I'm blessed and living a thankful life diligently. Please do the same. I hope you will just focus more and pursue a perspective based on reality, not the internet. I can understand what you feel but suppress it. Peace!"

Lastly, despite the issue, Jay Park updated on his "Lil bro," speculated to be ATEEZ Mingi and attested he's also doing fine.
