On April 18, the Korean media outlet, TheJoongAng highlighted "Han So Hee & Taeyeon's Effect" in the fashion community.
Han So Hee, SNSD Taeyeon Impact to Daiso's Sales After Wearing 'Princess Set'
In particular, the "princess set" in question is a set of toy jewelry, comprised of silver shiny necklaces, earring sets, and crowns with plastic heart-shaped jewels. Usually, these toys are used for children's play aged 5 to 6.
However, the so-called "Daiso chaos" where the "princess toys" suddenly became out of stock started when popular actress Han So Hee wore the toy jewelry during her birthday in November last year.
The product became a hot topic for So Hee's sophisticated look as if she's wearing expensive jewelries from high-end brands.
In fact, according to a Daiso official, the sales volume of the product doubled in November compared to October last year.
Later on, Girls Generation Taeyeon belatedly became a hot topic following her outfit for tvN's "Amazing Saturday" which aired on April 9.

During her appearance, the "Fine" singer flaunted a classy and elegant look by wearing a black dress, her beauty enhanced with luxurious-looking jewelry. Just then, K-pop enthusiasts found out that Taeyeon is wearing the same "Princess Set" as Han So Hee, the first time among K-pop idols.
After the broadcast, sales of the product in Daiso increased by about 30 percent compared to March.
Here's How SNSD Taeyeon Sparked the 'Princess Set' Trend
While Han So Hee introduced the Daiso set, it was not until Taeyeon's princess look that the trend started circulating among Millenials.
Daiso, which is known for being a household good is frequented by women in their 20s and 30s. This time, the brand suddenly became a house for fashion items, and the main character is none other than the "Pink accessory set" which sold for 3,000 won (2.43 USD) and the "Princess Necklace Set" sold for 1,000 won (0.81 USD).
On social media particularly on Instagram, the hashtag #공주세트 (#PrincessSet) amassed 500+ posts where netizens, especially women in their 20s and 30s shared their photos wearing the princess-style plastic accessories at birthday parties. Online postings sharing the inventory status of Daiso's products have also appeared.
Amid this trend, there are hilarious comments posted by K-Netz that are gaining attention from other internet users.
Some commenters expressed their thoughts on this trend, saying:
"Of course, it's Han So Hee and Taeyeon that's why they look expensive!"
"Even if the item is cheap, if you got that luxurious image, you can turn anything into expensive."
"No, don't generalize, not all women in their 20s and 30s do this. If we do it, my husband will take me to the mental hospital."
