BTS Jimin's Apartment Seized Over Failure to Pay Health Insurance Premiums

Recently on April 24, an exclusive report by Korean media outlet BizKorea revealed that the National Health Insurance Service (NHIS) had seized BTS member Jimin's apartment located at the Nine One Hannam in Seoul back on January 25.

According to the report, the seizure was caused by the idol not paying his health insurance premiums. Jimin had first purchased the luxurious apartment for 5.9 billion won (around $4.7 million USD) back in May of last year.

In addition, the report stated that Jimin had received four notices in separate ocassions regarding the seizure by registered mail during the time that his apartment was temporarily seized by the National Health Insurance Service.

The seizure over the BTS member's apartment was eventually lifted recently on April 22, nearly three months after the seizure was registered on January 25. He paid all of his overdue health insurance premiums.

Big Hit Music Responds to Reports of BTS Jimin's Apartment Seizure

Following the reports, Jimin's label Big Hit Music released a statement explaining the situation, which they reveal was caused due to an error made by the company.

According to Big Hit Music, the label is the first to receive all the mail that arrives at their artists' dorms, and a portion of the mail was left out by mistake in the process of giving it to Jimin.

Hence, due to Jimin's schedules abroad and his extended period of rest, Jimin was unaware of the situation, but immediately paid the insurance in full after finding out.

"In regards to the matter, the company is the first receive all of the mail that arrives at the artists' dorms, and in the process of relaying the mails to the artist, a portion of it was omitted by mistake.

Due to Jimin's activites overseas beginning at the end of last year, his extended period of rest, and subsequently his scheduled activities overseas after that, he was unaware of matters such as [his premiums] being overdue. As soon as Jimin found out, he paid the arrears in full, and the situation has been resolved at present.

Due to the company's negligence, we apologize for the fact that we have given the artist and fans a cause for concern."

Meanwhile, BTS recently concluded their successful four-night "Permission to Dance On Stage" concert in Las Vegas. More recently, Jimin released his first-ever official soundtrack, "With You," alongside long-time close friend Ha Sung Woon for the tvN drama "Our Blues" on April 24.
