These 10 K-pop facts about your favorite idols seem fake, but they are 100% real!
1. TXT Taehyun
Long-time MOAs (TXT fanbase) already know this fact, but it still sounds outrageous! Big Hit Labels reportedly gave TXT money to buy a couch for their shared dorm.
Taehyun took the money and ended up buying a pet snake instead of purchasing a couch as instructed.
The snake's name is Aengdu, which means cherry in Korean. Sadly, Taehyun had to rehome the snake because he became too busy with his idol activities.
2. Stray Kids Seungmin
In 2013, before he debuted as a member of Stray Kids, Seungmin was just an average student.
One day, he was brushing his teeth when a helicopter suddenly crashed into the apartment complex he lived in. The apartment was a 38-story luxury apartment block in Seoul, and the crash killed two pilots.
Instead of staying home that day, Seungmin wore a tracksuit and quietly walked to school.
3. TWICE Mina
During an appearance on "Hongki's Kiss the Radio," it was revealed that Mina gets nose bleeds when she is extremely happy!
During the appearance, Mina revealed that her nose bled when she got a puppy as an elementary school student! At the time, she had dreamt of raising a dog, but her parents objected. After begging, her mother finally approved of adopting a dog. While signing the contract, Mina's nose started to bleed as she imagined raising the dog!
4. 2NE1
In 2014, 2NE1 made a special appearance on the American dating show "The Bachelor."
During the episode, Bachelor Juan Pablo Galavis and the six girls were flown to South Korea to learn choreography from the four 2NE1 members, Bom, Minzy, CL, and Dara. In the episode, 2NE1 taught "The Bachelor" cast the choreography for their hit song, "I AM THE BEST."
5. BTS Jimin
Jimin has several fears, such as mice and heights. However, you may be surprised to learn that Jimin has a massive fear of butterflies!
The idol once explained that he developed a fear of butterflies when he was young. A friend had playfully put a butterfly down his pants, spurring the phobia. That is quite ironic, as BTS has a song called "Butterfly," and in the song, he is the member with the second-most lines!
6. KARD Jiwoo
KARD member Jiwoo used to be a trainee under FNC Entertainment, and she trained there for five years. She then transferred to DSP Media, where she only trained for two months.
When she first auditioned for DSP Media, she was immediately asked to join the KARD lineup. In fact, she was asked to record KARD's pre-debut single "Oh NaNa" the same day she auditioned! So the two months she spent training in DSP Media were to prep for her debut as a KARD member.
7. Red Velvet Irene
Irene is the most flexible member of Red Velvet. She is so flexible, in fact, that Wendy once caught her sleeping fully split!
On one occasion, her upper body lay against the floor, and she was covered with a blanket. Irene was seen in the same position on another occasion, but her legs were squished under her, making it look like her legs had disappeared! Wendy was freaked out in both instances, but Irene stated she is the most comfortable sleeping this way.
8. BLACKPINK Jisoo
BLINKs know that Jisoo likes to say her English name is "Jisoo Turtle Rabbit Kim," but the idol is actually afraid of rabbits.
When she was young, Jisoo got bit by a rabbit and instantly became afraid of the animal. However, she is okay with toys and plush rabbits. In fact, TWICE member Nayeon gifted Nayeon a stuffed toy rabbit, and Jisoo was often seen hugging and cuddling with it during live streams. Jisoo loves the toy so much that she sleeps with it and brings it to travel.
Jisoo is also afraid of hamsters.
9. NCT/WayV Yangyang
Yangyang auditioned for SM Entertainment after he dreamed of being on stage during a coma.
He ripped his tendon and dislocated his arm during a basketball match when he was in school. He got surgery and was put in a coma. At the time, he dreamt he was performing on stage, but he did not know the choreography, so he simply stood. Two weeks later, he saw an audition for SM Entertainment online, and he flew from Germany to Taipei to audition.
10. TVXQ Changmin
Did you know that TVXQ member Changmin is younger than all Super Junior members?
Changmin debuted with TVXQ in 2003, when he was 15 years old. Meanwhile, Super Junior debuted in 2005, while Kyuhyun joined in 2006. Despite debuting two years earlier than Super Junior, Changmin is younger than all of Super Junior. In fact, he is only 15 days younger than Kyuhyun!
