Stray Kids Hyunjin Questions His 'Value' During Concert, STAYs Affirm Love for Idol
On May 1, Stray Kids held their 2nd World Tour "MANIAC" at Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium in Songpa-gu, Seoul.
Before the concert concluded, the members faced their fans (STAYs) once more and expressed their feelings with tears, which was relayed by SBS News to fans who were unable to see the idols in the flesh.
Among members who individually took over the microphone to say their message during ment, Hyunjin attracted fans' and media's attention the most.
This is because the concert is his first offline concert after resuming his activities following a temporary break due to his controversy over school violence.
Hyunjin told fans:
"I think we can face such a beautiful scene only when we endure and persevere. That's why it's more precious and valuable."
He indirectly expressed his feelings to fans who stood with him and didn't leave his side amid his controversy.
"I'm not used to being loved like this, and I thought, 'Do I deserve to be loved?'"
He burst into tears after saying:
"I still don't know why (the fans) like me."

Just then, Hyunjin conveyed how the love of fans made him stronger but at the same time expressed his fear of hurting them (again).
"But I love being loved. I want to be loved steadily. So I decided to become stronger and stronger. I hope that my existence will not hurt you."
As he say these words, STAYs and supporters of the "God's Menu" singer expressed their love for him by saying:
"You're doing well!"
He continued:
"As time passed, everything was precious. It was so beautiful and nice to see everyone running toward their dreams, including the team. Thank you so much (to my members) for not falling, and thank you STAY for not falling also.
I will do my best to think of 'love' when I think of myself. I will do my best to make you all proud and happy because of me. I love you STAY."
When Hyunjin's words were over, the members hugged him tightly and wiped away his tears.
Stray Kids Bullying Controversy: What Happened?
Hyunjin left the music scene temporarily after being embroiled in a school violence issue in February 2021.
At that time, victim A claimed and posted on online communities that the male idol was the proprietor of physical and verbal abuse they experience when they were in middle school.
In response, Hyunjin wrote a handwritten apology letter and sincerely apologized to those who were hurt by him, admitting his past.
JYP Entertainment also announced that Hyunjin will temporarily stop his activities for self-reflection.
In July, Hyunjin then returned to his group activities, while continuing self-reflection actively participating in donations and volunteer activities.
