SEVENTEEN's 'Face the Sun' Now Holds Record for Fifth Highest Pre-Orders in History
On May 3, the album distributor YG PLUS announced that SEVENTEEN's fourth full album "Face the Sun" has exceeded 1,740,000 pre-orders, implying a new career-high for the boy group.
Impressively, this figure was calculated in only a week since "Face the Sun" was made available for stock pre-orders.

Compared to SEVENTEEN's last mini-album "Attacca," the pre-order amount for "Face the Sun" shows 300,000 copies more. "Attacca" achieved 1.4 million pre-orders in September of last year, setting the highest record for the group. It can also be recalled that "Attacca" earned the band their fifth consecutive "million-seller" title and their second one in 2021, apart from their eighth mini-album "Your Choice."
With "Face the Sun" surpassing 1.7 million pre-orders in just a week, SEVENTEEN is likely to score their sixth consecutive million-seller title.
On top of that, SEVENTEEN's fourth full album has also now set a new record for the fifth-highest pre-orders among K-pop albums of all time.
"Face the Sun" has surpassed NCT Dream's "Hot Sauce," which recorded 1,716,571 pre-orders in May 2021. It now follows "MAP OF THE SOUL: 7" (BTS), "MAP OF THE SOUL: PERSONA" (BTS), "Sticker" (NCT 127), and "Glitch Mode" (NCT Dream).

As SEVENTEEN continues to break their records for stock pre-orders with every one of their albums, anticipation is growing to see whether these 1.7 million pre-orders for "Face the Sun" will eventually reach two million copies sold in its first week of release.
Meanwhile, SEVENTEEN's "Face the Sun" is due out on May 27 at 1 p.m. KST. One day later, the band will hold an online comeback show.
Ahead of the album's release, the group's first English single "Darl+ing" came out on April 15. "Darl+ing" is SEVENTEEN's very first English song as a full group.

SEVENTEEN to Hold 'HANABI' Fan Meeting in Japan
In other news, SEVENTEEN is scheduled to meet the fans in Japan through a fan meeting, called "HANABI." The event will take place at the Saitama Super Arena for two days, from May 7 to 8.
As of May 1, a total of 60,000 seats at the venue have been sold out. There are more than 30,000 seats for each session, this means SEVENTEEN's "HANABI" fan meeting is almost completely sold out. With five more days to go before the event, it is expected that more seats will be occupied.

Interestingly, the Saitama Super Arena was also the venue for the boy group's first-ever concert in Japan, titled "SEVENTEEN 1ST WORLD TOUR 'DIAMOND EDGE,' making the upcoming fan meeting more meaningful.
In addition to in-person audience members, SEVENTEEN's "HANABI" fan meeting is also open for global viewers as there will be an online live-streaming component. There will also be delayed streaming on May 14 and 15.
