According to JTBC News, BLACKPINK will be making a comeback in the third quarter of 2022 and is expected to continue activities and embark on a tour in the fourth quarter of the year.

YG Entertainment's performance in the first half was sluggish. In the first quarter, YG Entertainment's sales garnered revenue of 75.5 billion won and an operating profit of 6.1 billion won. This time last year, YG Entertainment saw a profit of 22.4 billion won.

The company's digital content sales have declined significantly. It is reported that YG Entertainment saw a high profit last year due to BLACKPINK's online concert and the activities from late 2020.

Lee Nam Soo, a researcher at Kiwoom Securities, predicts that BLACKPINK's comeback will directly contribute to YG Entertainment's profit margins improving. In addition, they are considered the most anticipated artists of the year due to their long period of inactivity. Because of that, BLACKPINK is expected to help improve the label's earnings in the third quarter.

Lee Hye In also pointed out that during the time BLACKPINK will likely come back, major artists may not be releasing music at the time. Because of that, the chances of profiting from BLACKPINK are higher, thus a more significant chance of a comeback for the group.
