BTS "Butter" Cover by US President Joe Biden on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon"?

In the past few years, BTS' popularity in the United States has been consistently rising, but it reached a new peak during the COVID-19 pandemic. The boys treated fans to their first English song "Dynamite," which took the world by storm.

Because of the success of "Dynamite," BTS went on to release two more English tracks: "Butter" and "Permission to Dance." Both instantly became global hits.

On the May 24 broadcast of "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," BTS' "Butter" made a cameo appearance on the program's news segment.

At that time, host Jimmy Fallon was reporting on the first visit of Joe Biden to Asia as the U.S. President. He said, "Biden spent the weekend in South Korea, and you could tell he really started to pick up on South Korean culture."

His remarks were followed by a video showing President Joe Biden singing BTS' "Butter." The video actually consists of edited real clips of the U.S. president to create a fake cover.

"The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" took to its official Twitter account and shared the BTS "Butter" cover by President Joe Biden. As of this writing, the post has garnered 12,000 likes, almost 3,000 retweets, and over 630,000 views.

BTS' "MAP OF THE SOUL: 7 ~ The Journey ~" Becomes Their First Japanese Album to Achieve THIS

In other news, BTS has attained another milestone in the United Kingdom, and this time, it's with their 2020 Japanese album.

On May 20 local time, the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) announced that BTS' "MAP OF THE SOUL 7: ~ The Journey ~" had earned an official silver BRIT certification, becoming the boy group's 10th album to receive this certification.

Remarkably, "MAP OF THE SOUL: 7 ~ The Journey ~" is BTS' first-ever Japanese album to be certified silver in the UK.

An album is certified silver after selling 60,000 units, while singles are certified silver after selling 200,000 units.

Previously, BTS received BRIT silver certifications for their nine Korean albums, such as "MAP OF THE SOUL: PERSONA," "Love Yourself: Answer," "WINGS," "Face Yourself," "MAP OF THE SOUL: 7," and more.

BTS' "MAP OF THE SOUL: 7 ~ The Journey ~" consists of a total of 13 songs including the Japanese versions of many of their Korean songs and two new original Japanese tracks: the title song "Stay Gold" and "Your Eyes Tell," which was co-written by BTS member Jungkook.

Shortly after its release, the Japanese album debuted at No. 1 on Japan's Oricon daily album chart for July 14 with estimated sales of 447,869 - the group's personal best for first-day Japanese album sales.
