On June 14, BTS members RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook announced that they will be temporarily taking an indefinite hiatus from their group activities.

During the broadcast of BTS's "2022 FESTA Dinner" released on its official YouTube channel, the septet confirmed "hiatus" and revealed they also organized their dorm to live independently.

In regards to their temporary break, BTS revealed their desire to focus on their solo careers.

Following the broadcast, some reports wrote that BTS will stop their group activities during hiatus and do solo releases instead.

However, HYBE clarified this and told AP News:

"BTS will not be taking hiatus. Members will just focus MORE on solo projects this time."

This implied that although BTS will be taking on their individual endeavors, the team will continue to have group content once in a while.

Furthermore, in the broadcast, Suga's word was translated as "hiatus," but the more appropriate translation of what he really meant to say was "off-season."
