BTS' 'Proof' Album Sales in 1st Week Become 2nd Highest in Hanteo History

On June 10, BTS' anthology album "Proof" was officially released alongside the music video for its title track "Yet to Come (The Most Beautiful Moment)."

A celebration of BTS' ninth anniversary, "Proof" encapsulates the septat's storied discography through songs that the BTS members personally chose and reflect their thoughts "on the past, present, and future of BTS."

On the same day, the anthology album impressively surpassed two million copies, demonstrating the boy group's widespread popularity. The sales figure continued to increase in the following days as the album kept on selling more copies.

On June 16, BTS' "Proof" wrapped up its first-week sales with a whopping total of 2,752,496 copies, becoming the group's fourth album and fifth in history to reach the two-million mark. The only other K-pop albums to achieve the milestone are their own releases "MAP OF THE SOUL: 7," "BE," "MAP OF THE SOUL: PERSONA," plus SEVENTEEN's "Face the Sun."

On top of that, "Proof" has now broken the record for the second-highest first-week album sales in Hanteo history. It has surpassed "BE," which only sold 2,274,882 copies in November 2020.

On the top 6 list of highest first-week sales on Hanteo in history, BTS now occupies all spots excluding the No. 5 position (where SEVENTEEN sits).

BTS' 'Yet to Come' Attains 2nd Trophy on 'M Countdown'

In other news, BTS has earned their second music show trophy for "Yet to Come (The Most Beautiful Moment)" on Mnet's "M Countdown."

On the June 16 episode of "M Countdown," "Yet to Come" was a candidate for first place along with SEVENTEEN's "HOT." "Yet to Come" ultimately won with 10,333 points, beating "HOT" with only 3,685 points. BTS, however, wasn't present to receive their trophy.

"Yet to Come" achieved its first music show trophy on "Show Champion" on June 15. Including their previous music show wins, BTS now has a total of 154 trophies in their career. Their song with the most victories is "Dynamite" with a whopping 32 trophies. Notably, "Dynamite" is the Korean song with the most music wins in Korean history, surpassing Shin Seung Hun's "Invisible Love" with 31 wins.

While BTS' "Yet to Come" consistently receives trophies on Korean music shows, the title song also stays strong on the iTunes chart. On June 16, "Yet to Come" maintained its position at No. 1 on the Worldwide iTunes Song Chart, spending seven consecutive days atop the tally.

As of June 10, "Yet to Come (The Most Beautiful Moment)" was charting on iTunes Song charts in at least 98 countries including the United States, Canada, France, Australia, Germany, Spain, and more. Remarkably, the track hit No. 1 in 75 countries in just less than three hours of its release.

The new B-side songs from BTS' "Proof" also made it to iTunes charts around the world. "Run BTS" was charting in 85 countries, "For Youth" was charting in 82 countries, and "Born Singer" was charting in 69 countries.
