#ProofNo1OnBB200: BTS' 'Proof' Tops Billboard 200 With Biggest Group Sales in 2022
On June 19 local time, Billboard officially announced that BTS' anthology album "Proof" had entered at No. 1 on the Top 200 Albums chart, a weekly ranking of the most popular albums in the U.S.
"Proof" secured the No. 1 spot after earning an impressive 314,000 equivalent album units during the week ending on June 16. The sum includes 266,000 pure album sales, 12,000 track equivalent album (TEA) units, and 26,000 streaming equivalent album (SEA) units-which converts to 52.84 million on-demand audio streams in the first week since the album was released.

More than 259,000 of the pure album sales attained by BTS' anthology album were in CD sales-the highest sales week for an album on CD in the U.S. since Adele's "30," which sold 378,000 CDs in its first week last year.
Billboard noted, "The vast majority of the CD sales for '30' came from the $11.98 and $13.98 editions," while "there are two CD variants available in total [for 'Proof']: a $24 version and a $70 version."
In addition to recording the biggest U.S. sales of any group this 2022, BTS' "Proof" also obtained the second-highest overall, following the debut week of Harry Styles' "Harry House."

Furthermore, now that "Proof" is BTS' sixth album to debut at No. 1 on Billboard 200, the septet is now the first-and so far, only-Korean act ever to claim the top on the Top 200 Albums chart with six different albums. The previous BTS albums are "Love Yourself: Tear," Love Yourself: Answer," "MAP OF THE SOUL: PERSONA," "MAP OF THE SOUL: 7," and "BE."
What's more, in Billboard 200 history, only 15 non-English albums have ever reached the No. 1 spot-meaning that out of those 15 releases, six of them belong to BTS.
To celebrate the septet's new milestone, ARMYs took to Twitter to trend the hashtags "#ProofNo1OnBB200" and "#BTS6thNo1InBB200," together with the keyword "CONGRATULATIONS BTS."
Congratulations to BTS on yet another historic feat with their anthology album "Proof"!
