BTS' 'Proof' Enters at #1 on Oricon With Biggest First-Week Sales of 2022

On June 21, Oricon officially announced that BTS' "Proof" had debuted at No. 1 on its Weekly Album chart for June 13 to 19. The anthology album impressively racked up sales of 514,000 units in its first week.

In addition to recording the highest first-week sales this 2022, "Proof" also achieved the fifth-highest first-week sales by a foreign artist's album in Oricon history.

On the list of top 5 biggest first-week sales by albums of foreign artists, BTS holds the Nos. 2 and 4 spots, and now the No. 5 position-meaning the septet now has the three best-selling albums in the first week in Japan of all time. Their other albums on the list are "MAP OF THE SOUL: 7 ~The Journey~" (564k copies) and "BTS, THE BEST" (782k copies).

Apart from that, "Proof" is now the group's tenth album to top Oricon's Weekly Album Chart. This makes BTS the first and only foreign artist so far to ever achieve ten No. 1 albums in Japan.

To recall, BTS' "Proof" ranked first on Oricon's Daily Chart on June 23 with 463,718 copies-their own highest first-day sales figure in Japan to date, surpassing "MAP OF THE SOUL: 7," which only sold 227,204 copies.

BTS' 'Yet to Come' Debuts on Billboard 200, Global Excl US Charts

In other news, the title track "Yet to Come" in BTS' anthology album "Proof" debuted on this week's Billboard 200 and Global Excl. U.S. charts.

"Yet to Come (The Most Beautiful Moment)" successfully entered at No. 1 on Billboard's Global' Global Excl. U.S. chart, while it debuted at No. 2 on Global 200.

The new title song has now joined BTS' previous hits such as "Dynamite," "Butter," "Life Goes On," "Permission to Dance," and "My Universe" as the group's song to land at No. 1 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart. The B-side song "Run BTS" also landed on this week's Global Excl. U.S. chart, taking the No. 8 spot.

Previously, Billboard revealed that BTS' "Proof" debuted at No. 1 on Billboard 200 with the biggest first-week sales in the United States this year. As a result, many anticipated that "Yet to Come" would rank high on this week's Billboard Hot 100; however, the track failed to do so. As a result, whether the song will enter the chart in the following weeks remains to be seen.

Meanwhile, "Yet to Come (The Most Beautiful Moment)" consistently ranks on the Worldwide iTunes Album Chart, along with B-side songs from "Proof." On June 20, "Yet to Come" ranked No. 7, while "For Youth" was at no. 17, and "Run BTS" at No. 20. "Yet to Come" has now spent 11 days in a row on the chart.

Also, on the 20th, BTS' anthology album "Proof" took the No. 8 spot, spending its 11th consecutive day on the tally.

In South Korea, BTS' "Yet to Come" reached a new peak on the weekly charts of three major music platforms. The title track rose to No. 1 on Bugs, climbed up to No. 6 on Genie, and No. 8 on MelOn. Additionally, the song has earned its first MelOn Weekly Popularity Award.
