aespa to Open 'GMA' Summer Concert Series 2022 as First K-pop Girl Group
On June 27 local time, the popular American talk show revealed that aespa is the artist opening this year's "GMA" Summer Concert Series, which is scheduled on July 8.
For starters, the "GMA" Summer Concert Series is an outdoor event hosted every summer by "Good Morning America," the representative morning show of ABC channel in the United States.
For the past two years, it was held in offline and online format due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but this year, famous artists including aespa will deliver live performances from New York City's Central Park.

Apart from aespa, the lineup for the "GMA" Summer Concert Series 2022 includes Megan Thee Stallion, Demi Lovato, OneRepublic, Ozuna, and Black Eyed Peas. Beginning with the South Korean girl group, the event will conclude on Sept. 2 with Black Eyed Peas' performance.
Reportedly, aespa will perform their hit songs "Next Level" and "Savage," their English track "Life's Too Short," as well as the title song "Girls" in their second mini-album," which is slated to drop on the same day as the concert. This would mark the first live performance of aespa's "Girls."
Following BTS's participation in the 2019 and 2021 "Good Morning America" Summer Concert Series, aespa is the only second K-pop artist and first K-pop girl group to perform at the event.

Meanwhile, later this week, aespa will appear for the first time on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" where they will give a premiere TV performance of their English song "Life's Too Short." The episode featuring them will air on June 29 at 11:35 p.m. ET.
Currently, aespa is releasing teasers for their second mini-album "Girls," which is set to drop on July 8 at 1 p.m. KST. The EP will contain a total of nine tracks including "Life's Too Short," the pre-release B-side song "Illusion," and their previous songs "Black Mamba," "Forever," and "Dreams Come True."

aespa's Recent and Upcoming Activities
In addition to aespa's historic appearance at Coachella back in April, the girl group held their first-ever U.S. showcase, titled "SYNK in LA" on June 26. The show was sold out, with all 6,000 seats at the YouTube Theater occupied.
At the showcase, aespa treated fans to amazing performances of their songs, such as "Life's Too Short," "Illusion," "Savage," "Lucid Dreams," "Next Level," and "Black Mamba."
Regarding their upcoming activities, besides their "GMA" Summer Concert Series appearance and July comeback, aespa will hold their first in-person fan meeting since their debut. Entitled "MY SYNK. aespa," the event will take place in Seoul at the SK Olympic Handball Arena on July 30 at 6 p.m. KST.

Tickets will go on sale on the Yes24 website for official ACE members on July 4 starting at 8 p.m. KST and for the general public on July 6 at 8 p.m. KST.
According to their post on Twitter, the fan meeting in Korea will be the start of aespa's global activities in Korea, the United States, and Japan. Hence, fans can expect more activities from the girls over the following months.
