Following the introduction, K-pop enthusiasts are quick to express their theories and guesses about whether the three trainees will join NCT or form a new boy group outside the large-scale team.
Ultimately, fans are guessing that they will join NCT. The introduction reminds NCTzens of how Hendery, YangYang, and Xiaojun, also a set of three, were introduced as new members of NCT in 2018. Later, the three joined WayV, a Chinese sub-unit of the large group.
With this pattern, fans are guessing that Eunseok, Shohei, and Seunghan will join NCT's new sub-unit NCT Tokyo based in Japan.
However, some fans claim they could be a new group outside NCT because the audition for its new units was still ongoing.
Despite all these theories, SM Entertainment is yet to release more details about SR22B.
