In a recent broadcast appearance, Jangjun reveals that he has yet to earn any money from Golden Child's group promotions despite it being years since he has been active in the industry.

Jangjun Reveals He Has Yet to Earn Money From Golden Child's Group Promotions
Recently, Golden Child member Jangjun made a guest appearance as the panelist on the July 3 broadcast of KBS2's variety program "The Money School." During the episode, the singer talked about how much money he has so far.
Jangjun first shared with the show's host, Defconn, his bank account. Upon seeing his bank account, Defconn shared with the other cast members that, "There are six zeroes in the account," in Korean won.
Defconn then asked the Golden Child member if he earns any income from his activities and promotions with the group.
To this, Jangjun reveals that he has yet to earn any incoming from his group promotions. However, he does earn from his individual activities.
Jangjun said, "I debuted in 2017, so I am in my sixth year of promotions [in the industry]. I have not yet received any earnings from our group promotions yet. I only make earnings from my individual schedules, just like this program today."
He added that he only started having individual schedules beginning 2019, and that was the time he was finally able to earn an income.

"I started having individual schedules like this in in 2019. That was the first year I began having an income. It was seven years after I left my home to become an idol," Jangjun said.
Jangjun's Mother Manages His Bank Account
Jangjun also shared that his mother is the one managing his earnings. As his mother is in the real estate leasing business, she is used to handling money.
Hearing this, the cast commented that his mother might have set aside something for him using his money, such as a building.
To this, Jangjun said, "I haven't made a point to check and see what my mother has done with my earnings. But I have heard in passing that there is something set aside. Something like, 'For my some when he gets married.'"

While the reason why Jangjun has yet to earn any income from his group activities, it could also be due to his ongoing trainee debt.
Before making their debut, companies invest a lot of money to train idols. In addition to their accommodations, lessons, and basic necessities. Thus, during the first few years of them making their debut, idols will have to pay back the investment made on them by the company. This usually leads to a lot of idols not seeing any earnings in the first few years as well.
