SUPERKIND Saejin Becomes Hot Topic Due To Resemblance With ASTRO Eun Woo

Saejin, a member of rookie group SUPERKIND continues to attract attention as ASTRO Cha Eun Woo's lookalike.

In particular, SUPERKIND comprised of Saejin, Daemon, Eugene, Geon, and SiO, officially debuted on June 20 this year with its digital single, "Watch Out."

As soon as their music video was released, it already surpassed 530,000 cumulative views in about two weeks. Among the members, Saejin particularly stood out and gained explosive reactions from netizens.

Looking at his videos and photos, many K-pop enthusiasts noticed his uncanny resemblance with ASTRO Cha Eun Woo. Fans commented about how they both got that youthful glow and bright visual.

As a result, even Saejin's individual project video posted five months ago exceeded 770,000 views. This was a rare case for rookies from a small company, proving the male idol's skyrocketing popularity.

However, Eun Woo's lookalike is not only the reason Saejin went viral among fans and internet users. Another fact is that Saejin, who looks like an actual human, is actually a character produced by AI!

In SUPERKIND's worldview, 20-year-old Saejin is the main character. He plays the role of a vocalist and rapper in the group taking the center role sometimes as well.

In their MV, netizens and viewers praised the creator of Saejin, leaving comments such as:

"He blends in the team naturally. You won't notice he's a virtual human."

Get To Know SUPERKIND: Concept, Members, More

If you are unfamiliar with the group, SUPERKIND is a five-member male idol group thatthat recently made its debut in the domestic K-pop market.

Unlike the usual boy groups, SUPERKIND is indeed one of a kind since it is a team that combines "real people" and "virtual humans."

Although they were often compared to aespa, who first introduced avatars in the K-pop scene, this is virtually the first time an AI has been put in as a group member, not as an "avatar" of a real human member.

Meanwhile, the group is comprised of former members of YOURS project. But after some trainees left before their debut, the pre-debut group rebranded and added Saejin, an AI.

As their popularity increases, attention is being paid to whether male virtual humans will be able to attract attention in the industry where female virtual humans were the mainstream.

Meanwhile, Deep Studio plans to continue to present short form contents aimed at K-pop fans using SUPERKIND. In addition, it is expected to increase the utilization of its own intellectual property (IP) by expanding its scope to games in addition to K-pop contents.

However, there are currently no plans to appear on TV. This is because it takes about a week for the post-production of adding Saejin after the group photo shoot.

In addition, it is known that the members go through "hardships" that other idol groups do not experience, such as practicing dancing while leaving Saejin's seat empty.
