TWICE Jihyo Diet & Workout Routine: Here's How the 'SCIENTIST' Singer Maintains Her Figure

Park Jihyo, commonly known as just Jihyo, attained worldwide fame after making her debut as a member of the top-performing girl group TWICE in October 2015 under JYP Entertainment. She has since been promoting as their leader and main vocalist for the past seven years. Like most idols in the industry, Jihyo was expected to lose a certain amount of weight and maintain her figure while promoting as an idol. So with that, how does Jihyo maintain her figure? Here's what we know about Jihyo's diet and workout routine!

TWICE Jihyo Workout Routine

When Jihyo first came into the public eye during her appearance on the Mnet and JYP Entertainment survival program "SIXTEEN" in 2015, she drew attention for her weight.

While most would consider Jihyo's weight at the time to be slim and normal by Western standards, she drew criticism for being chubbier and heavier than the standard weight for female K-pop idols.

Due to the harsh criticisms online and JYP Entertainment's strict rules of having to be less than 45kg to debut, Jihyo eventually worked on losing weight. And over the years, she shed plenty of it and now maintains a weight of around 49kg to 56kg at 162cm (5'3") tall.

When it comes to her workout routine, one of her main forms of workout is dancing, which is a staple among K-pop idols. Dancing is a good form of cardio, as it is not only fun, but also helps burn fat and calories!

While the length of time idols set aside for dance practices varies depending on the dance's difficulty or whether they are promoting, idols would generally practice dancing for at least two hours each day or at least the majority of the week.

But aside from dance practices, Jihyo also maintains her fit figure through weight training! The idol revealed she has tried doing pilates before, which is a popular workout among female idols. However, she prefers weight training as pilates makes her sleepy and because weight training is more fun.

Not only does weight training make you stronger and build muscles, but it also helps boost metabolism and make your body more toned.

As for Jihyo's diet plan, the TWICE leader was forced to go on a strict diet to lose weight during her trainee days. However, as she hated dieting and loved eating, she eventually chose not to have diet meals.

Instead, Jihyo cut off eating late-night snacks and only had one meal daily. She also often skipped breakfast and lunch and would eat whatever she wanted from 5 pm to 6 pm. This way, not only does she satisfy her food cravings, but she also manages to lose weight gradually.
