The discussions on whether TWICE will renew their contract with JYP Entertainment had been going around since mid 2020, with people thinking that some members would stay with the company, while others won't. The girl group debuted in October 2015, and the members' contracts will come to an end in October this year.

On July 12, JYP Entertainment ended people's assumptions by announcing through a press release that TWICE has completed their contract renewal with the agency prior to the expiration of their exclusive contracts this fall. The label noted that all nine members of the group re-signed.

"Ahead of TWICE's exclusive contract expirations coming up this fall, all of the members decided to complete their renewals," JYP said.

"TWICE, who played a pivotal role in confirming JYP Entertainment's top status as a K-pop agency, and JYPE, who acted as a firm a pillar of support for TWICE's growth as a representative girl group in the K-pop scene, reached an agreement to renew based on mutual trust and loyalty from both sides and a certainty for future progress," the label further said.

Since their debut, TWICE has won several Daesang awards at various music awards ceremonies and has surpassed 10 million in cumulative album sales in Korea and Japan. They have set numerous domestic and international records, such as having the most music videos with more than 100 million views (20 MVs).

With every release, TWICE maintains their reputation as one of the representative girl groups in the K-pop industry.

This 2022, TWICE completed the North American leg of their fourth world tour "III" They held concerts in different cities in the United States, including two encore shows in Los Angeles at the Banc of California Stadium. The nonet became the first K-pop girl group in history to hold a sold-out stadium show in the U.S.

Additionally, TWICE made history as the first female international group- and the second girl group overall (following AKB48)- to hold a three-day concert at Japan's Tokyo Dome.

TWICE's Latest Comeback With 'Formula of Love'

At present, TWICE is currently on a break as a group. Their latest domestic comeback was in November of last year with their third full-length album "Formula of Love: O+T=<3." This album earned the band multiple achievements, including the title of the first K-pop girl group to ever have two top 10 albums on Billboard 200 ("Formula of Love: O+T=<3" and "Taste of Love").

Other than that, "Formula of Love" also made TWICE the only second K-pop girl group to spend eight weeks on Billboard 200, following BLACKPINK with "THE ALBUM."

Furthermore, the studio album recorded the nonet's highest first-weeks sales on the Hanteo Chart to date, selling a total of 318,840 copies from Nov. 12 to 18. It broke the record of 277,531 copies set by "Taste of Love."

Meanwhile, the album's title song "SCIENTIST" was named one of the best K-pop songs of 2021 by the publications Billboard, DAZED, and Paper. Also, it won music show trophies, particularly on SBS's "Inkigayo" and KBS's "Music Bank."

What's more, "SCIENTIST" was named the "Song of the Year (November)" at the 2021 Gaon Chart Music Awards.
