Why Did ChoA Leave AOA?
In January 2017, FNC Entertainment announced that ChoA would be going on a hiatus following AOA's activities for their studio album "Angel's Knock." After promoting with AOA for five years, ChoA officially announced in June of the same year that she would no longer be a member of the group, citing health issues as the cause.
ChoA had revealed that she was suffering from depression and insomnia and had even tried using medication to help. However, she could not improve her mental health and ultimately decided to part ways with the group.
Following her withdrawal from AOA, ChoA remained signed with FNC Entertainment until her contract expiration in May 2019. However, during this time, ChoA exited from the entertainment industry for three years until her return in 2020.
