On July 21, an acquaintance of Kim Garam mentioned the female idol's status after defending her against a netizen's post on the online community Nate Pann.
In particular, internet users uploaded a text mocking the "FEARLESS" singer, saying:
"Kim Garam is (now) a part-time worker at a fast food restaurant (Burger King)."
In response, an anonymous web user refuted these claims and introduced themselves as an acquaintance of Kim. They authenticated this fact by proving they were friends with the idol on Kakao Talk.
The acquaintance then countered:
"I know you hate Kim Garam, but don't go too far and start making up stories."
They then updated on the idol's recent status and said:
"She hasn't been out of their house since she left their (LE SSERAFIM) living quarters, so what kind of part-time job at Burger King is it?"
Kim's friend then defended the idol and criticized the netizen who uploaded the original post, adding:
"I'm sure it will continue to be Kim Garam's wrong foot, and so, she was punished and will continue to receive punishment in the future. But making up stories and uploading them on online communities is a little... it's not right."
The exact truth is unknown, but this is the only update about the situation of Kim Garam conveyed by a person who introduced themselves as her acquaintance.
On the other hand, nothing is known about Kim Garam's future activity plans as a singer.
Kim Garam's School Violence Controversy
Before her debut, Kim Garam was embroiled in a school violence controversy. However, despite rumors, her agency pushed through with her debut, denying the claims of witness A.
But later on, the fact that Kim Garam was actually a level 5 perpetrator was revealed after victim A released documents to notify the results of the School Violence Countermeasures Committee.
In the end, HYBE, Source Music announced on July 20 that the exclusive contract with Kim Garam had been terminated.
"We have decided to terminate our contract with Kim Garam. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused to fans and many others due to the controversy over Kim Garam."
Following the news, Ms. A, who claims to be her acquaintance of Kim Garam, claimed that Ms. B, who claimed to be the victim of the school violence, was also the perpetrator of the school violence and that she was damaged from her.
She also claimed that the company used Kim Garam as a noise marketing strategy for LE SSERAFIM. As a result, HYBE and Source Music received backlash as well.
Meanwhile, LE SSERAFIM plans to continue its activities under the five-member system, comprising members Miyawaki Sakura, Kim Chaewon, Huh Yunjin, Kazuha, and Hong Eunchae.
