To become an idol, you would first need to attend an audition or get scouted by a company. With thousands of idol hopefuls trying their luck to become a trainee, many aren't as successful when it comes to getting into a company. But despite the failures they may have faced, some of the K-pop idols we know today eventually succeeded. And did you know that these idols were once rejected by "Big 4" company YG Entertainment?
With that, here are some of the K-pop idols YG Entertainment turned down!
1. Park Bom
Although Park Bom made her debut as a member of 2NE1 under YG Entertainment in May 2009, it took her numerous tries before she was accepted as a trainee in the company. It took Park Bom three auditions at YG Entertainment before she finally got in.
2. Rain
Before Rain rose to stardom after making his debut under JYP Entertainment, he had auditioned for YG Entertainment. The "Rainism" hitmaker was rejected, with YG Entertainment founder and former CEO Yang Hyun Suk expressing his regret over the decision.
3. Chung Ha
Another idol Yang Hyun Suk had expressed regret in rejecting is solo artist Chung Ha. Despite not debuting in YG Entertainment, Chung Ha became a top-performing solo artist!

4. Crush
Crush is currently one of the most popular solo artists in Korea, having released numerous hit songs. But before his debut, YG Entertainment didn't find him appealing enough to sign him as a trainee. He is also an artist Yang Hyun Suk regrets rejecting.
5. BewhY
Although BewhY is technically not an idol, he did audition for YG Entertainment for a simple reason - he was BIGBANG G-Dragon's fanboy! Unfortunately, he wasn't accepted as a trainee. But he did get to perform with G-Dragon years later!
6. Red Velvet Wendy
Wendy had once auditioned for YG Entertainment. However, she didn't make the cut at the company. Fortunately, she was soon scouted by SM Entertainment, where she trained for years and later debuted as a member of Red Velvet.

7. BIGBANG T.O.P
It's hard to imagine BIGBANG T.O.P being rejected by YG Entertainment, considering he is one of the industry's top and most popular idols. However, despite being amazed by his rap talents, YG Entertainment had turned him down due to his weight. T.O.P ended up losing weight for the next several weeks to get accepted into the company.
