The most recent mini album from ITZY is still hitting the Billboard charts after two weeks! ITZY reached its best position on the Billboard 200 last week, as their new mini album "CHECKMATE" debuted with an amazing start at No. 8. Keep on reading for all the details.
Billboard announced that "CHECKMATE" had successfully stayed on the list for a second consecutive week on August 2 at local time.
The mini-album debuted at No. 81 on the Billboard 200 for the week ending August 6, becoming ITZY's second album following "CRAZY IN LOVE" to spend two weeks on the chart.
In addition to taking the No. 5 spot on the Top Album Sales list and the Top Current Album Sales chart this week, "CHECKMATE" also maintained its solid position at No. 4 on Billboard's World Albums chart.
In their fifth overall week, ITZY placed 36 on the Artist 100, while their new title tune, "SNEAKERS," peaked at 86 on Billboard's Global Excl. U.S. Chart and the Global 200, at No. 151.
ITZY's "CHECKMATE" Special Edition Release Details
ITZY's fifth mini album, "CHECKMATE," will have a special edition with three versions.
Version A has ITZY donning dresses and posing in a classy, renaissance-type of background. Version B has the members in a uniform type of clothing. Lastly, version C is the cutesy, bubblegum pop type of concept.
JYP Entertainment released the news through ITZY's official social media accounts. They announced that the release date of the special versions of ITZY's "CHECKMATE" albums would be on August 8, 2022.
MIDZYs are happy with the different versions as it would be easier to choose their favorite concept from the girl group.
Some fans totally adore version C, saying it's adorable. Meanwhile, some fans love version B since ITZY rarely does uniform concepts, which is something fresh and new from the girl group.
Of course, there are those MIDZYs that like version A since it shows a sophisticated side of ITZY.
ITZY Becomes Ambassador of Charles And Keith
The famous label recently announced that they would partner with ITZY and make them their newest ambassador for their footwear, handbags, and accessories.
The brand's Fall 2022 ad, which features Lula patent bags and shoes, one of the trendiest styles this season, will be modeled mainly by ITZY.
The campaign's strong, dominating visual language captures the high-gloss attitude of Lula and the charismatic presence of ITZY. The girls demonstrate how they stay true to their style, whether on camera or not, in this celebration of freedom and authenticity.
ITZY stated that they are really excited about the new collaboration as they'll be able to display their unique chemistry and the many new sides of ITZY with the brand. It was an honor for them to be launched as the new worldwide brand ambassadors of CHARLES & KEITH.
