Label SJ Confirms Super Junior Siwon is Positive for COVID-19
Super Junior's agency, Label SJ, has released an announcement saying that Siwon will not be participating in the Manila leg of "Super Show 9."
Their whole statement reads,
"Hello. This is Label SJ.
We would like to inform you about Super Junior Siwon's COVID-19 information. As a result of the PCR test that Siwon conducted while preparing for his overseas schedule, he was re-confirmed on the morning of the 3rd.
Therefore, we would like to ask for your understanding that Siwon will be unable to participate in the 'SUPER JUNIOR World Tour - SUPER SHOW 9: ROAD in Manila' performance scheduled for this week.
Siwon has suspended all schedules and is self-isolating according to the guidelines of the quarantine authorities. We will faithfully support Siwon's speedy recovery by considering the artist's health and safety as our top priority.
Thank you."
Meanwhile, Dream Maker Entertainment and Pulp Live World, the promoter of "Super Show 9" in the Philippines, have confirmed that Siwon will not be joining the rest of the members.
Leeteuk, Yesung, Shindong, Eunhyuk, Donghae, Reyowook, and Kyuhyun will all participate in the concert as planned, except for Siwon. The promoters asked for the fans' understanding.
ELFs in Manila
Many fans are sad and upset that Siwon cannot perform at the concert. Many fans have bought the ticket solely to see the idol-actor. However, now that he can't attend, some ELFs are thinking twice.
Just yesterday, fans were trending hashtags like #ThisIsItSS9InManila, with the head of Pulp Live World, who is famous for being an ELF herself, joining the tweet party. Now, they are trending #SS9inManila with many tweets about Siwon's absence.
Fans are consoling each other and making sure that people will still attend the concert despite one of the members missing.
Thai ELFs Apologizing
Since Super Junior recently had a concert in Bangkok, Thailand, some Thai ELFs are apologizing to Filipino ELFs. Despite it not being their fault, many sympathize with Filipino ELFs.
Some of them felt like one of the irresponsible concert-goers or staff spread the virus, which caused Siwon to test positive. It isn't confirmed where Siwon got the virus, but it is more likely that he got it there since Super Junior members always do tests before flying to another country.
Praying For Fast Recovery
Other fans from other countries are now praying for Super Junior Siwon's fast recovery. In addition, they are hoping that other members will not get the virus.
They also hope that none of them will get the virus after Siwon can attend the concert in other countries. Health and safety is their priority for their idol.
Siwon is now in quarantine. He was advised to do so as all the other COVID patients.
Meanwhile, Filipino ELFs are still excited to see the other members, especially those first-time concert-goers. They are cheering on each other and making each other excited by posting past "Super Show" concerts.
