On August 9, Oh My Girl became a hot topic after their annual salary was revealed on various online communities.
In particular, an internet user wrote:
"Wow, Oh My Girl's salary is said to be 'hundreds of millions of won."
As soon as the post went viral, people began asking if the amount was official, and the author responded, "Yes."
Apparently, the number came from the KBS2's "Capitalism School," where Binnie, now known as Yubin, participated in.

During the show, the female idol was lauded for gaining knowledge prior to making an investment. When the eight-year idol was asked for her salary, she surprised everyone by showing off her bank account's balance of "hundreds of millions of won."
The exact amount was not specified; thus, it could range from 100 million to 900 million KRW (76,000 USD). This amount is more than twice as big as the yearly average salary in Korea, which is 37.4 million KRW in Korea (28,000 USD).
As soon as netizens came to know about this, they expressed various reactions, such as:
- "They are working really hard."
- "As they should."
- "It would be unfair if they wouldn't receive such an amount, they've been working hard for the past eight years."
As this amount circulated on online communities, others also used this to estimate how much money other K-pop idols make in a year.
Some left comments such as:

Oh My Girl's Activities, Schedules 2022
Oh My Girl continuously proves their popularity with their full-packed schedules and activities this year.
Starting with Mimi, the rapper confirmed her appearance in JTBC's "Second World," which will be aired on August 30.
Prior to her, Oh My Girl unit Banhana, comprised of Hyojung, Arin and Yubin, will be the third runner of the "Summer Vacation Project" on August 14. The sub-unit will release a remake of a 1993 classic, "Love Is."
The unit is the third artist to participate in the project following fromis_9 and NMIXX.
Meanwhile, former Oh My Girl member Jiho signed with P&Studio on August 10. The company then released a statement, saying:
"We signed an exclusive contract with former Oh My Girl member Jiho. She will start a new leap as an actress with the new name of Gong Jiho. We will spare no effort to support Gong Jiho so that she can develop her talents as an actress.”
