BTS V's "Christmas Tree" has set a new Spotify record. The male idol also earned a new title. Keep on reading to know the latest feat of the popular Korean OST.

BTS V's 'Christmas Tree' Becomes Fastest Korean OST to Hit 150 Million Streams on Spotify

On Aug. 12, it was revealed that BTS V's "Christmas Tree" - which is an original soundtrack for "Our Beloved Summer" - had surpassed 150 million streams on Spotify. The song took only 230 days after its release to reach the mark.

With this, "Christmas Tree" has become the fastest Korean OST to garner 150 million streams on Spotify. This record previously belonged to BTS V's own OST "Sweet Night," which achieved the feat in 505 days in August of last year.

In addition, BTS V is now the first Korean solo artist to have two OSTs with more than 150 million streams in Spotify history. Notably, "Sweet Night" recently became the first Korean OST to gain 245 million streams on the global music streaming platform, extending its record as the most-streamed Korean OST in history.

This is a notable feat as BTS V's "Christmas Tree" didn't have official promotions even on music shows. And the fact that the number of streams continues to increase even after almost eight months since its release is truly incredible. This only shows the unchanging popularity of the Korean OST.

"Christmas Tree" has achieved numerous milestones in the past following its release. It made a splendid debut on Billboard's Hot 100 at No. 79, marking V's first solo entry on the chart. Also, "Christmas Tree" became the first Korean OST in history to enter the chart.

The "Our Beloved Summer" OST also became the first Korean OST to top the Billboard Digital Song Sales Chart. It sold 23,500 units in its first week, which was higher than the sum of the sales of the songs in second and third places at that time.

Moreover, the figure is the highest among the first-week sales of Korean solo songs that debuted on the Billboard chart.

On the UK Digital Song Sales Chart, BTS V's "Christmas Tree," debuted at No. 2, becoming the highest debut by a Korean soloist on the tally.
