BLACKPINK will be performing at one of United States' famous awards shows, the "Video Music Awards" by MTV. They are one of the four artists announced, together with Lizzo, Jack Harlow, and Maneskin.
BLACKPINK will perform their pre-release single "Pink Venom" from their upcoming album "BORN PINK."
The show will air live on Sunday, August 28 at 8 p.m. Eastern and Pacific time and on August 29 in Korean time. It will be held at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
BLACKPINK Nominations At The VMAs
BLACKPINK Lisa is nominated in one of the categories with her debut solo single "Money." She is the first female solo act to be nominated for the category of "Best K-pop."
Her co-nominees are BTS, TWICE, ITZY, SEVENTEEN, and Stray Kids.
The quartet is also nominated in the newly created category, "Best Metaverse Performance." They are nominated together with Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, BTS, Charlie XCX, and Twenty One Pilots.
BLACKPINK already made history with the VMAs as they are the first Korean girl group to ever won an award in it. In 2020 the four-membered girl group won "Best Summer Song" with their hit single "How You Like That."

BLINKs, as BLACKPINK called their fans, are ecstatic that their idols will be the first-ever female K-pop act to perform at the American awards show. They will surely not miss the opportunity to see the ladies live.

BLACKPINK Tops the August 2022 Brand Reputation Rankings
Another good news for BLACKPINK is that they topped the brand reputation rankings for the third consecutive month this year.
Korean Business Research Institute released their analysis from July 14 to August 14 and the "DDU-DDU DDU-DU" singers were on top of the list again.
BLACKPINK topped the list for the third consecutive month with a brand reputation index of 6,372,130, marking a whopping 103.34 percent increase in their score since July.
BLACKPINK topped the keyword searches for girl groups with words like "world tour," "YouTube," and "teaser," They scored a total of 85.08 percent positive reactions.
They are followed by Girls' Generation who recently made a comeback, and TWICE who will also return to the music scene this month.
BLACKPINK's 'Pink Venom' Countdown Live Stream on YouTube
YG Entertainment has released a countdown live stream for BLACKPINK's pre-release single "Pink Venom" ahead of its full album release "BORN PINK" next month.
The live stream will be live on BLACKPINK's official YouTube channel on August 18, 11 p.m. Eastern Standard time, and on August 19, 12 p.m. Korean time.
YG Entertainment has released teaser videos and concept photos over the last couple of days making the fans more excited for the comeback of the biggest girl group in the world.
All the ten concept video teasers have more than seven million views as of this writing.
