BLACKPINK's 'Pink Venom' MV Officially Achieves 3rd Biggest 24-Hour Views in YouTube History

On Aug. 19 at 1 p.m. KST, BLACKPINK made their highly-awaited comeback with their new pre-release single "Pink Venom." Just one hour after its release, the music video for the song impressively surpassed three million views on YouTube.

The 24-hour views of BLACKPINK's "Pink Venom" then hit a total of 86,228,516, but the view count was not verified by YouTube.

On Aug. 22 local time, Billboard revealed that YouTube officially confirmed that BLACKPINK's "Pink Venom" had accumulated over 90.4 million views in its first 24 hours.

With this latest achievement, BLACKPINK has now recorded the biggest 24-hour music video debut of 2022. "Pink Venom" has also now attained the girl group's own biggest music video debut since their debut, surpassing their 2020 release "How Your Like That" (which amassed 86.3 million views).

Moreover, BLACKPINK's "Pink Venom" has also officially broken the record for biggest 24-hour views for a music video by a female artist in YouTube history, which also previously belonged to "How You Like That."

On top of that, "Pink Venom" has now earned a spot in the top three biggest 24-hour music video debuts in YouTube history. It follows BTS' "Butter" with 108.2 million views and BTS' "Dynamite" with 101.1 million views.

On the top 10 list of the most-viewed MVs in the first 24 hours in YouTube history, BLACKPINK has now secured three spots, with "Pink Venom" at No. 3 (90.4 million views), "How You Like That" at No. 4 (86.3 million views), and "Ice Cream" at No. 5 (79 million views). Member Lisa also currently holds the No. 7 spot with her solo track "LALISA" (73.6 million views).

Previously, BLACKPINK's "Pink Venom" MV exceeded 100 million views on YouTube on Aug. 20 at approximately 6:36 p.m. KST. It took the song just one day, five hours, and 36 minutes to obtain this feat.

With this, "Pink Venom" has become the fastest music video by any female artist in YouTube history, breaking the previous record of one day, eight hours, and 22 minutes set by the girl group's own song "How You Like That" in 2020.

BLACKPINK's 'Pink Venom' Achievements on iTunes

Following its release, BLACKPINK's "Pink Venom" dominated iTunes charts all over the world. Notably, "Pink Venom" is the first song by a female group to reach No. 1 on the US iTunes Song Chart since their own "How You Like That" in 2020. The track also became the quartet's first No. 1 on the UK iTunes Song Chart since their debut.

What's more, BLACKPINK is the only K-pop girl group to hit No. 1 on both the Worldwide iTunes and European iTunes Song charts in 2022. They also now hold the record for most No. 1 on iTunes for a K-pop girl group this year with 73 No. 1s, as well as the second most No. 1 in history (following "How You Like That" with 77 No. 1s).
