INFINITE Sungyeol's Pre-Debut Story
While INFINITE Sungyeol first debuted as a K-pop idol, he originally wanted to be an actor. In fact, he was an actor trainee under SM Academy. There is a video of him acting at the academy that was uploaded to YouTube. He also hosted the SM Academy music festival prior to debut.

During his pre-debut days as an actor, he appeared as a supporting role in several dramas, including "Jolly Widows," "Good Job, Good Job," and the popular series "Boys Over Flower."
But he eventually pursued an acting career after his debut as an idol, with "While You Were Sleeping" as his first drama. And at present, he is more active as an actor.
INFINITE Sungyeol's Celebrity Sibling
Lee Sungyeol is one of the K-pop idols with a sibling who is also a celebrity. New fans might not know but he is the older brother of Daeyeol, a member of Golden Child (a boy group which also debuted under INFINITE's agency, Woollim Entertainment).
Daeyeol is two years younger than Sungyeol, having been born on Feb. 11, 1993. He joined Woollim Entertainment around 2012 and debuted as the leader as well as the lead vocalist and lead dancer of Golden Child.
INFINITE Sungyeol's Celebrity Crush
Another fun fact about INFINITE Sungyeol is his celebrity crush. According to this site, he has a crush on Girls' Generation Taeyeon. In a particular variety show, he once talked about Taeyeon, saying she's innocent, easy-going and charismatic and that's why he easily fell for her.

It is also said that she likes actress Soo Ae. And about his ideal type, Sungyeol prefers a girl who isn't deceiving and is easy-going and cute.
INFINITE Sungyeol's Drama & Movie Appearances
He is best known for playing one of the male lead characters on "Hi! School-Love On," which also starred his fellow INFINITE member Woohyun and actress Kim Sae Ron (who was a rising child actress at that time).
His other dramas are "D-Day," "Love Returns," "Time of Memory," and "Please Remember, Princess," among others. As for his movies, Sungyeol starred in "Time to Remember," "0.0MHz," and "GROW: INFINITE's Real Youth Life."
INFINITE Sungyeol's Family Restaurant
Another fun fact about Lee Sungyeol is that his parents own a chicken restaurant, which is popular among travelers and also INFINITE's fans. Located in Seogyo-dong, Mapogu, Seoul, the restaurant offers a variety of dishes, including fried chicken, pizza, and pasta. The main dish is crispy fried chicken with yangnyum sauce, and usually comes with a side of pickled radish.

Since the son of the restaurant owners is a popular K-pop idol, some corners of the wall interior are full of fan site photos of Sungyeol. Among INSPIRITs (INFINITE's fan club), the restaurant is called "YeolBQ."
