These five K-pop idols always showcase perfect performances on stage that you won't even notice they have poor physical state!
You may think that idols are in good shape because of their vibrant personality, image and outstanding skills on stage. The idols listed below, however, silently endures their poor physical conditions and still perform extraordinarily despite their situation.
Here Are 5 Idols Performed Incredibly Despite Being Sick:
1. SHINee Key
In MBC's "I Live Alone," aired on September 2, SHINee Key confessed a birth defect for the first time on a show.
During the episode, the "Gasoline" singer confessed he actually had surgery due to a congenital leg disorder. It was explained that Key suffered from parietal bone syndrome to the point he was hospitalized for about a month due to severe inflammation inside his feet.
Although such a condition's effect can be reduced, it is known that those suffering from parietal bone syndrome have edema, pain, and tenderness in the area, and are often accompanied by flat feet, and since it's a birth defect, Key apparently still experiences pain.
Despite that, Key rose as a 14-year idol who is known for his powerful dances and fantastic performances both as SHINee and as a soloist.
2. TWICE Nayeon
During her debut days, TWICE Nayeon attracted attention for often falling or reeling on stage. While some initially thought it was just the idol being clumsy, some fans got really concerned that a fan took the courage to ask her. Nayeon then replied:
"When I was young, I had a big car accident and my left leg was weakened a lot due to the aftereffects. I'm glad I can walk now."
But despite her disability, Nayeon proves she's a strong woman because no matter how hard TWICE choreographies are, she always perfectly executes them!
3. 2PM Lee Junho
Baeksang's Best Actor and 2PM member Lee Junho also suffered from a serious accident while practicing acrobatics, which caused his spinal fracture.
Although his operation was successful, his poor progress led him in 2019 to enter as a social service worker instead of the active-duty army during his enlistment. He explained:
"I consistently received rehabilitation treatment and exercise at the same time, but the progress was not good, so I have been prescribed painkillers when doing entertainment activities that are inevitably burdensome to my shoulders."
Despite his injuries, he is amazingly well-respected as a top-tier idol, songwriter, producer and award-winning actor!
4. Super Junior Heechul
Super Junior member Kim Heechul reported on several broadcasts that he had a car accident in 2006 and hit as many as seven iron cores in his leg.
Its severeness came to the point that he almost decided to leave the group. After recovery, Heechul was able to join the team again. However, he cannot do intense choreography to prevent straining his leg.
Despite that, you can see that Heechul always does his best on stage, gaining praise and cheer from fans, especially ELFs.
5. Super Junior Kyuhyun
Member Kyuhyun, who also had another car accident, suffered a fractured rib and fell into a coma for four days.
The unfortunate incident almost cost his life, but he still pursued his passion for dancing and singing and went back to the music scene after years of recovery.
The accident left him painful aftermath, but new fans won't even notice his pain because of his bright aura.
